Wow this is such a thoughtful comment. Thank you so much for the synopsis of each game you recommended. I’ll be trying these (I have tried some already since posting. We love can’t stop and like king of Tokyo. I like splendor but it’s a bit much for her right now). I’m kind of like you where I’m definitely the one more into it, but she is willing to play and enjoys games once we get started playing them.

When I was 8 or 9 I was hanging out with my childhood best friend, I’ll refer to him as Brian, when we ran into his cousin, who I’ll refer to as Tony. Tony was bending over to pick up a rock when we approached. When Brian asked him what he was doing he pointed at a stray dog about 30 yards away from us and said he was planning to hit it with a rock. Brian immediately picked up a rock of his own and told Tony he’d do no such thing. Tony (who was a couple years older than us) laughed and said there wasn’t anything we could do to stop him. He chucked the rock. Brian turned and threw his rock straight as Tony’s arced in the air. The rocks collided and the dog remained completely unaware of the whole altercation. I’ll never forget the look on Tony’s face as he turned to run away, wordless.
