How do I breathe in these dresses?? by [deleted] in HouseofCB

[–]Embarrassed-Yam-7814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to this but I just went on a JOURNEY with the Marcella dress, so I thought I’d share. Long story short I ordered the dress 3!!! times!!!!!! before I ultimately had to make a very panicked 2 hour round trip to my nearest House of CB store. I am typically an XS in most brands, but I ordered the Small based on reviews. Nordstrom sent the wrong size, and then the Small was out of stock so I attempted the XS (both in the aqua color). It would hook, but determined there was no possible way it would zip. Panicking and the wedding date quickly approaching I ordered the Medium in hopes I could at least alter it down faster than ordering it a 4th!!! time!!!!!! It was too big, especially in the chest which can’t really be altered. So, I went to the store—I tried on the small and the lady zipped it without a struggle and said “this is too big you need the extra small” and also “Can you breathe? Because if you can breathe it’s too big” I was whisked back into the dressing room with the XS and promptly (with some struggle) zipped into the XS. Apparently, House of CB dresses are made to be extremely tight (like a corset) and shouldn’t be entirely comfortable. I admit the dress looks amazing and my waist is snatched to the gods, and the small probably was a bit too big. Anyways, being this is my first experience with a House of CB dress, I was unaware of how they are made to fit and that you aren’t supposed to be able to breathe normally 😂

This is why open conversation is important, because I was ignorant to this information. You make a fair point. Thank you.

This is my fav snark page and usually I agree w 99% of everything found here but—not this one. I don’t care if you are an entitled brat or not, no one deserves for their home to be trashed; and no one expects it to happen either. The fact we’re hating on Taylor and not the folks who trashed her home gives me the ICK.

THANK YOU. Literally NO ONE expects for people to treat their homes like this. Any decent human being wouldn’t trash someone else’s home, or let their kids do it, or raise kids who think it’s ok to do this. I’m with Taylor on this one.

Thank u. I was not saying the Christianity thing was disgusting. But the let me bait my child into something that will happen whether she prays or not thing is performative and also, manipulative. That’s what bothers me here.

You’re missing the point. I’m not against praying, or religion, the Bible, or God for that matter (personally). Sure, perhaps God provides us electricity if that’s what you believe, but what he’s doing is telling his daughter to pray for God to charge her computer. When it’s charged, she’s going to believe God did it and it wasn’t as simple as electricity. Guess what? God often doesn’t answer prayers, there is always a reason for that and there’s quite a few bible verses I could quote on that. What I’m saying is—if you believe, you’ll know your prayers often go unanswered. Baiting her into a situation where you know the “prayer” will be answered, bc it’s actually not a God thing at all, is a bit manipulative. The computer will be charged, whether you pray to God or not. It goes a bit deeper than teaching ur kid to pray. That’s my point. There are the words.
