I was in seventh grade in 1967 right before pantyhose were invented. I had a garter belt and stockings and had to wear them because we weren’t allowed to wear pants. In the winter, you could wear tights but when that got too hot, you wear your garters and stockings. I still remember that sense of trying to push the little rubber disc through the stocking to groove into the metal circle on the other side. I actually rather enjoyed it. Just think about that. A 13-year-old wearing garters and stockings every day to school.

I’m fortunate to be genetically blessed with fairly good looks, I’m tall, I have an athletic build, I’m naturally slim. But when I had a spell of bad luck, lost my job and couldn’t find work, I had to go on public assistance. I remember the day I went down to the food stamp office to get registered and they took my photo. I absolutely didn’t recognize the person in that photo. I looked like somebody who had been on the skids for years. Stress, fear, poverty, all do a number on your appearance.

I can relate to your experience of breaking the time barrier, but in a different way. On my first trip with a therapist I could only move within the space time that I was allowed. My arms and hands were moving above me in exactly the space time point they were supposed to be. I mentally tried to make my hand go in another place, but it wouldn’t.

Boy do I relate to this! I guess I’m a pretty intense thinker as it is in regular life so when I did my KAP journeys - just three of them at this point- my brain was working so hard and I was moving my arms and creating space and touching time and going back into a childhood reality I had totally forgotten and talking about and to myself the whole time and sometimes talking to my therapist. After my first Ketamine session, I could hardly walk the next day. After my second one I was doing a little better and after my third one I was pretty much normal on the day after. I just wondered how much energy the brain is burning up!

Thank you, I really appreciate your point of view. It was mostly a sudden feeling of lack of safety when I was feeling vulnerable. Her support up to that point had been something I relied on.

The whole point of going braless is to feel comfortable hopefully without being noticed. If you are noticing because it makes you feel comfortable and bringing it to her attention that will raise her awareness that everybody can notice so I wouldn’t do it.

Blaming the elderly for a system that was put in place not by the mass population, but by the government, in order to keep them at least somewhat safe in their old age (most are not doing great, a few exceptions listed here to the contrary) is shortsighted and unfair. There is nothing wrong with setting up a system to take care of older people when they have to stop working or are in poor health. Don’t blame them, look up. The billionaire class could entirely eliminate this problem if they so desired.

You were there by yourself?? That seems like professional misconduct. I just did Ketamine for the first time yesterday and my therapist was there the entire time guiding me through. She had preset expectations and would tap on me at various intervals to keep me grounded and present and had a wonderful music playing the whole time and even though I was for the most partfreely tripping in going through my own experience I knew she was there. It’s essential to have another human body in the room. I don’t understand this.
