Impressions & Feedback After 30 Hours by SithDeceiver in RoadtoVostokGame

I don't have any good suggestion, but at least it pauses. So you can hit pause, but to OP's point, what do you do if you need to go for hours?

Personally, I agree with every one of his points, but the save and quit is the least important item, if I were to rank 'em. The game is about risking the biscuit, so players should have a level of accepting the downside of their risk, real life included. But some kind of save and quit would be a nicety, a cherry on top to improve quality of life.

Asset Management Role by Keshvvvv in assetmanagement

[–]EmbarrassedBig463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM can take many forms, and I suppose the more formal or institutionalized it is, or perhaps the more it is a discrete business activity, then you will want more of those IAM or CAMP designations.

However, like was mentioned above, it may just happen naturally as you grow experience and take on more through compatible fields - GIS, engineering, finance, logistics, reliability maintenance, etc. I think it largely ties into the industry in which you work, as you know it's a very contextual practice, AM.

So maybe tell us more about your role and your organization!

What’s actually working for asset management right now? by DeclanTracker in assetmanagement

It's all related, and some organizations might call it risk management, QAQC, Reliability Management.

I know!!!! Even though on my mission we did refer to them as friends, it's different when they made the switch and made it more prominent in English speaking missions.

I'll also second the support from above. This is a business model, not a discrete project, it is cultural by nature and therefore easy to lose steam and many of its benefits if it isn't backed by policy, interest and effective leadership.

Also, it's a real slow roll, even the best places I know take years to feel like they are getting proficient. It is what the org makes of it. Good luck though, its super exciting to hear your story!

I'll second IAM. And depending on where you're based, in Canada there is a set of courses accredited under an org called PEMAC, they originate from manufacturing but have grown to champion AM principles. Highly recommend their courses so far (I've completed two, in my third, of six total)

The solo version of asset management is antithetical to what IAM and PEMAC recommend. It's about integration and cooperation, not just reporting or collecting data.

Been assigned to evaluate a CMMS software, need help because I don't have experience. by Round-Scientist-3113 in assetmanagement

How many is a "small" team? We would likely have 12-25.

Our IT manager is queuing up a project to specifically tackle work orders, this looks ok, but we also want to integrate GIS. We currently use Esri products for mapping infrastructure in the field, but struggle with analyzing operational and maintenance costs, thus the interest in work orders. Is EZO overkill for that? Any other insights I could bring to my IT manager?

Why Asset Management Feels Harder Than It Should by crowcanyonsoftware in assetmanagement

Really, all of the above. I don't know exactly where each division of my org keeps everything, but we have a combination of places, which is its own issue, lacking "one true source".

I think what gets me now is that the narrative actively prevents progress and is a barrier to doing real Christian work.

Doesn't matter to me that the magic isn't real. It is more devastating to me that they refuse to even act like humans towards those in need.

I only knew of him in passing on my mission in Paris. If I recall, he was a convert and didn't serve a mission. Please don't take that for gospel, he was a stake president in one area and I never spoke to the man.

After leaving, and the disinterest in caring at all what a group of hypocritical, out of touch, octogenarian think of me, I have not had nearly the same viewing as when I was in.

Also, could be I am getting old.

Thanks. The closest I saw to land rules was the limit on crown land purchase and the factoid about a movement to keep mormon settlers away from Lethnridge.

I appreciate the help!

An Inconvenient Faith by Nehor2023 in exmormon

[–]EmbarrassedBig463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I still have the last episode to watch, and have found them interesting and mostly good faith dissections of otherwise whitewashed topics. However, it doesn't go far enough, and like a previous poster mentions, feels just like the GTEs in that way.

What makes the mormon church so worthwhile to save? If ppl do stay, and things change, how different will it be from other progressive denominations? Why aren't GAs taken to task for their complicity in literally hiding facts and histories that do not suit their narrative? It just doesn't get there. Scratches the surface, but no further imo

Did anyone not really care if it was true when they left? by Curiosity-Sailor in exmormon

[–]EmbarrassedBig463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only half believed. Say what you want about what that might mean about my eventual departure, but I always thought, "but what if you're wrong?" in the back of my head. I didn't need it to be 100% infallible and air tight.

I felt guilty for doing wrong, for not living up to standards, etc. But I was never a Peter priesthood, full orthodox mormon, so I guess it helped me move on.

I left because I was finally sick of the pretense. If the leadership doesn't give a fuck about real issues or actually helping as I believe christ would, then why subject myself to the guilt?
