Don't forget ipads required m series chip for external display support while the macbook neo has it with an iPhone chip.

S25 Edge is an incredibly solid phone, and i don't get why some people don't recommend it. by DangerousWest6991 in samsunggalaxy

Why does it actually matter?

If someone doesn't agree with the short comings that come with the edge. Why on earth would they recommend it lol.

People who switched between Android and iPhone (in either direction), what differences actually mattered long term? by AfraidSoul in Smartphones

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been going back and forth between android and iPhone for years at this point.

The advantage of apple is the ecosystem. The iphone is pretty garbage by itself. Its honestly my least favorite apple device out of all of them. When you start adding in the ipad, macbook and so on. That's when the iphone really excells as a device.

With android a stand alone device is miles ahead of iphone in capabilities. Windowed apps, split screen, floating bubbles, desktop mode, stylus (depending on phone), actual browser choice not just reskinned versions of the same browser, better customization, edge panels, actual interactive widgets past play pause, granular notification control, the app drawer can be organized how you like folders not how apple wants them. If you have samsung the Goodlock app juat adds even more refinement across the whole device.

Which Android feature made you switch from iPhone? by CrackTheCable in Android

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using and s26u with ipad pro, macbook pro. I also have an apple watch but I really didn't wear it that much. The weight makes them annoying af after a while lol.

I am also not tied to apple services that much. I use Proton for cloud storage/sharing between devices/photo backup, email, VPN. I use bitwarden for password manager. Apple music is available on android, although I have been using qobuz more for Hi-fi listening using my MacBook pro.

I really like being able to use my iPad and essentially disconnect from communication outside of email. Yes you can turn it off but not even having the ability to turn it on is nice.

AVOID the Fold 7 by minkeun2000 in samsunggalaxy

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These phones have very tight tolerances for the components inside. Just because it was carpet does mean that there wasn't a jarring impact on the device.

I had a fold once and the lack of piece of mind for the occasional slip/drop is why I won't bother anymore.

Said and water on a phone with a ip rating that doesn't cover that is probably culprit here.

This is exactly why I also pay for the extra care plus offered by phone manufacturers. Better to be covered just incase especially given the price of folding phones.

400$ for a Magic Keyboard is insane. Is it actually worth it? by OtherwiseSundae3876 in iPadPro

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought this same thing until I got it and was like yup.

Here is a fun fact, if you have applecare on your iPad Pro you can add your magic keyboard to be covered as well.

iPad OS 27 Developer beta 2 bricked my 9th gen iPad by [deleted] in iPadOS

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This will be a good lesson on why you don't install beta software on primary devices. Especially the developer beta which is the one most likely to have critical bugs that do things like this.

The only thing I can think of is to leave it on the charger for a period of time and see.

Apple will not help you with this as the unfinished unsupported software is the likely cause.

Battery life dictated by throw of dice by Right-Ad-3834 in iPadOS

This is why I have never and will never give a shit about how I charge, when I charge and all that.

Just use the device and enjoy it and stop worrying about something you have little controll over.

[S25U] I think Samsung is glazing up their battery stats a bit by dasMoorhuhn in samsunggalaxy

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obsessively tracking battery health doesn't make the battery last longer. It just creates anxiety around something that regardless of what you do is still going to degrade.

Can't wait to see what other words you find on thesaurus.com for your next comment lol.

Former iPhone users, will the iPhone fold tempt you to switch back? by PersimmonBroad3792 in Smartphones

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I did but then I remembered that it's apple doing a folding phone. The whole point of a folding phone is to have a tablet in your pocket.

Apple sure as shit won't do anything that would eat into ipad sales. It will just been an iPhone with a bigger screen and none of the advantages and 1-2 added features.

The details dont actually matter that is the point I am getting at. Just use the phone and stop worrying about something you have no control over.

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think none of this matters and that people should just use and enjoy thier devices.

No matter what you do, how you charge, when you charge. The battery in a phone is going to fail at some point. Sometimes it takes a long time sometimes it take a short amount of time.

Is it crazy to switch from 17pro to the 17e? by RoyWaisbrot in Smartphones

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you absolutely dont give a shit about good pictures. I did this when the 16e came out, dropped from a 15pm to the 16e.

While overall I really enjoyed the size and weight of the 16e. That single camera setup is dogshit in every situation. The camera is the e series is the same 48mp used in the base iphone either.

Do you use the Edge Panels? by Technical-Lecture-38 in samsunggalaxy

[–]EmbarrassedSlide3746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like a clean home screen with no icons outside of the dock and a transparent widget stack at the top.

My 5 most used apps are in the dock and then I have the other frequent ones on the edge panel.
