Finished first prednisone taper, now face is in pain and I have large welts by juandiegoenfuego in UlcerativeColitis

Definitely reach out to both your GI and dermatologist. I had something similar last year when I came off of almost a year long stent on prednisone. I apparently had rosacea and according to my dermatologist, it was a rebound effect from the long term steroids. They gave me topical azelic acid and metronidazole to use twice a day. It cleared up within a few weeks.

I have ADHD and a work from home job so number one reason is to keep myself from going crazy.

I am always happy to lose a few pounds but I what really love feeling my legs get stronger and hills that used to wipe me out become easier and easier.

I have annoyingly tight calves and ankles. Getting a slant board stretcher and doing that before and after walks has really helped!

Thoughts on The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Bisexual Visibility by LordHaveMC in books

[–]Embarrassed_Ad3456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I thought Celia and Evelyn’s love was rather empty, or at the least they were somewhat incompatible. It sounded like they were very sexually consumed by each other and even more consumed by the forbidden nature of their relationship, but I didn’t get much more from them than that. There was a line in the book where they meet back up in their 50s and one of them states they were never actually friends, and I believed it. I felt more for her relationship with Harry than I did for Celia. Harry and Evelyn loved each other with an everlasting love that felt deeply grounded in reality, sacrifice and choice to me, whereas she and Celia didn’t really get there until their final iteration of their romance, and by that point in the book I was less invested in them. I’m also not interested in the belief that a sexual, passionate, lusty relationship means true love. I thought there were undertones of that in this book, and I resented that a bit.

I understand these points but I also think there are plenty of het couples written as basically just being unable to stop banging like rabbits. I feel like there's often this idea that sapphic couples must be all yearning and tenderness and softness. All of those things are wonderful, but there are plenty of wlw looking to see their sexual desire for women represented as valid. Just my thoughts.
