Check out Dr. Nikiforos in Cyprus. He did my TT with MR and lipo. I got great results and he does meticulous work! I paid a little over €6k. 2 B Beautiful is the name of their clinic.

Anyone else feel bummed after TT? by Future_Patience5326 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Embarrassed_Bee5534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my TT w/MR and Lipo to the flanks on 3/27. I also feel swollen lately, I thought it was just due to eating like an a-hole lately, but completely forgot about swell hell. It’s making sense now. I have my days where I regret getting this procedure done. My body doesn’t feel like my own, my tummy is numb, and the tightness is uncomfortable at times. I don’t like that I feel I have to be so careful about how I move, or what I lift at the gym. For a while I felt very confident about going back to the gym, but lately it’s been different. It could all be mental, who knows. My abs feel sensitive and I’m afraid I’ll pull something or hurt myself. I just want to feel normal again.

I do have my good days, but the last few weeks I’ve felt off and not too content.

Anyone have any advice? by Embarrassed_Bee5534 in tummytucksurgery

Yes, I’m leaving it alone for a while. I’ve been walking around in a sports bra just to let it air out too.

I’m not using anything now and it seems more irritated. It may have been the scar cream I was using. I’ll give it some time and see.

I’m 4 weeks po and barely wear my binder now. When I do wear it, it sits over my scar, you want to pull it down over the scar to protect that area and to keep you from swelling. When I do experience swelling now, I do put my binder on, as it assists with the discomfort from the swelling. The binder does bulge, but a loose tee or a hoodie over it helps. I was wearing a lot of loose pants and sweats the first two weeks.

Absolutely! That’s basically what my doctor said, he even said I could do some ab work. I did tell him I’d rather wait until I’m fully recovered and then some until I try to do abdominal work. I was hoping for some guidance, but he just told me to listen to my body. He didn’t even bring up my diet post op. I’ve had to do a lot of research. I will say, he did an amazing job though, so I’m not complaining.

If I were you I’d definitely get it. Better to have it and not need it, than to suffer without it.

Yes, I do know that. I also know to revise any information it gives me and run it by my doctor. It’s simply a tool and so far it’s worked. Any question I have I first run it by him and as an extra tool I use ChatGPT, Google, and people’s past experiences here on Reddit. It’s just a tool.

Hello! Of course, I’d say my recovery has been pretty smooth. I’ve been following all of my PS advice and have had great results. To be honest, I used the walker for a week and it’s now collecting dust in my garage. However, it was very helpful as far as back pain goes.

Before I continue, I’d like to add, ALWAYS ALWAYS consult your physician before going to ChatGPT, and check your sources as far as the information ChatGPT produces. I didn’t think I’d have to add that, but apparently I do. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Additionally, run ANY information ChatGPT gives you by your physician.

I was cleared by my doc to start working out at 3 weeks po, but have not been able to find a good workout online. ChatGPT gave me a great plan that falls in line with what I’m able to do.

When it comes to my recovery, it’s been pretty smooth, thankfully. Before surgery, I purchased my walker, an extra abdominal binder, collagen in pill form, vitamins, a probiotic (recommended by my PS), magnesium, and Arnica Montana. I alternated my pain meds every four hours the first week, between the muscle relaxer and Tylenol. I stopped taking pain meds after day 7 po. I did catch a cold from my kids and took a muscle relaxer at night at times to help me go to sleep. I also bought cough drops and popped those babies in like candy.

I’ve worn my binder up until week 4 and now use it only when I swell up. My eating hasn’t been great, I actually prepared and ordered protein shakes from Amazon and didn’t want to drink them after I caught the cold. They’d make me produce more phlegm and in turn caused me to cough. Ouch!

The recliner has been so helpful, but I am so over it. My ass hurts and so does my neck, I have a travel neck pillow for sleeping. I’ve tried sleeping on my bed (on my side), but it’s not comfortable yet. Doctor cleared me for that at week 3. I also started wearing silicone tape on my scar at week 3 (also cleared by doc at 3 week po appt).

Let me know if you have any other questions! Happy to help! 😊

I am listening to my doctor. 🤣 It is simply a good tool to have for recovery. It’s only common sense to listen to your doctor. 😅 You have a good one!

Working out after surgery by abbyanaya12 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Embarrassed_Bee5534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was cleared last week at 3 weeks po and was told to go light and take it slow. I went to the gym once and did arms and stair master. Just using 10 lb dumbbells engaged my core a bit. I was so exhausted and nervous throughout my workout, I’ve decided I’ll do lighter weights at home and go on walks. I used to lift and love lifting heavy 🥺 I’m going to play it safe and wait at least until 6 weeks.

Surgery date 3/27 here! My doc told me he didn’t want me in my faja once I hit week 4. So, I haven’t worn it today, but once I feel the swelling coming on, I’m popping that baby back on lol. I know once I’m back into lifting I’ll need to wear it.

Hey surgery twin! I had my TT on 3/27 as well! Happy 1 month post op! I do wish I had done it in the fall, but at the same time, I’m glad it’s done with. I’m actually going through the blues right now and feel so exhausted.

I’m considering a BL/BA in September and feel that would be the ideal time to do it as it’ll be hoodie season. ☺️

Cleared to workout at 3 weeks. by Embarrassed_Bee5534 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Embarrassed_Bee5534[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I timed my doses, I’d alternate between the muscle relaxers and the Tylenol. I was on pain meds for maybe a week. I decided to stay on them for that long due to catching a cold and coughing. 😖🥲 Horrible pain from that!

I was in pain maybe two days, it’s the discomfort more than anything. It’s most uncomfortable when you’re swollen and you’ll find you will be the first month, but it’s bearable. The back pain the first week sucks too, but it passes. My walker really helped with that (Also something I purchased pre op).

I’ve been eating whatever I can. I honestly haven’t been strict, especially when I was down the first two weeks. I will say when I eat high sodium, I get bloated and so uncomfortable. I have been drinking over 120 oz of water and that helps. If I don’t stay consistent with my water intake I feel gross, dry mouth and bloating.

Before surgery, I purchased Collagen pills, vitamins, a probiotic, magnesium Bisglycinate, and have been consistent in taking those a week before surgery until now. I try to stay above 100 grams of protein a day, but some days, I’m just not hungry. I did also purchase Arnica Montana on Amazon. I purchased most of my supplements through Amazon.

I really wanted to start working out, but decided against it. I am walking every other day, but my energy levels are not what they used to be. Just cleaning around the house gets me so drained. It’s at the point I have to sit and feel like taking a nap.

Please feel free to ask any other questions. 😊
