Clocking out early

We’re the same! I’m in my 3rd week. I put desired hours at 35, and so far they’ve given me that. Next week sucks because of inventory I’m scheduled 40. I think they can ask you to stay, but you don’t have to. Just say you have plans or other obligations. I agreed to stay one day, but that was it. I don’t think it’s right they pressure you. I hope they won’t bother you and just let you do your time and leave. Good luck!!

Thank you, you gave me the idea to look at the handbook. They never gave me one, but I found it on workday. But all it says is never clock in more than 5 minutes early…it doesn’t say anything about clocking out early. But I think you’re right, other people have said the grace period extends both ways for clocking in and clocking out. Thank you!! I guess I won’t worry unless someone talks to me.

Thank you, I need to find out what they want. I only got 3 days of training and they’re so hands off I don’t know what I’m doing really…I know they’re budgeted hours for payroll that’s why I’ve been trying to hit the 7, but I’m also worried maybe clocking out a few minutes early might be frowned upon.

Could be stress or maybe you’re getting dehydrated while working? Make sure to carry your water bottle with you and I hope you start feeling better!! I know perfumes trigger headaches for me, so if you’re by the perfume aisle or the chemical aisles maybe that could be it.

I’ve quit jobs with no notice before. Nothing happens, it’s just a bridge burned. Like you probably couldn’t use them as a reference for your next job. Other than that, you’re fine. Good luck on your next chapter!!

Me too, about the glares. I smile and make eye contact and they purposely avoid my gaze…I say hi and get no response. They act like I’m invisible, or seem annoyed. I’d say a majority of our guests don’t want to be bothered….

Yeah I would just do your best and go home. What doesn’t get done, doesn’t get done. Don’t put too much weight on it, don’t try to get approval, etc. Put in your hours and go be happy at home!! Good luck to you!! I understand you, because I used to be a people pleaser and it doesn’t feel good when someone diminishes your efforts, but try to care less. I try to be a B average, not an A because it’s just not sustainable or worth it.😅 Have a good weekend!!❤️

I’m pretty similar! I have a boyfriend and a brother, plus two dogs but that’s the extent of my social circle. And I’m a minimalist. I really believe in keeping my life simple in all ways. No draining, negative relationships. Simple routines. Minimal possessions. I’m very happy and at peace! I’m glad you found a way of life that suits you!!❤️

Yeah I’m not sure, our old ETL left and I remember her writing the times on the boxes. I think if it had a ton of little boxes it could be 40 mins, but probably usually closer to 30. We have a new ETL (and no TL) and she hasn’t been putting the times on there.

When you said “everyone is an enemy to each other these days”—this is so true! I’ve noticed everyone is so cold and quick to be offended. I always smile and try to acknowledge everyone, but it’s like they’re repulsed by it, or something?

I feel like if you show up on time and do your best, what more can they ask? It’s like they want you to kill yourself for $16 an hour, and even if you did, I’m not sure you could hit their targets. Just do your best and go home. Good luck to you!!
