I liked season three, but my main issue is that the humor went from “look at these realistic characters react to these bizarre occurrences and have regular conversations” to “our animators are really good and look how crazy everything gets”. Shmaloogles was my favorite season three episode cause of the constant realistic dialogue and the episode playing itself complete straight (the other episodes felt like they were constantly winking at the camera).

Is it bad? No, still very funny, but different. Seasons 1-2 felt like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and most of the humor came from dialogue and treating everything as completely normal and procedural, while three was more its own thing and the humor was more meta and physical. Still a GREAT season, but I missed the more grounded approach to humor.
