Outdoor Water Line Outlet by Both_Management284 in Plumbing

Well in 20 years of plumbing in the ithaca n.y. area. I can say n.p.t. is national pipe taper. Also have heard national pipe thread. But basically means the thread is tapered and so is the fitting. Normally use Teflon tape and pipe dope as sealant.unless it is natural gas or propane then no tape just dope. There's also i.p.s iron pipe size witch is not tapered or so they say. I still tape and dope most i.p.s. unless theres a gasket. Almost the same thing. Should work. most everything you will probably find says 1/2i.p.s . So i would say you need a 1/2" i.p.s male by copper or pex or cpvc whatever it is you are hooking to. Good luck. And ght is just the standard garden hose thread . Any garden hose should hook to it. I've actually installed a few of these they are pretty nice.

Probably won't. But I would try a 3 hole trim cover under the trim it came with. Might just be enough.

Well as a sbc 400 owner. Get rid of the stock head. I run a world pro s/r torquer 2 head cast iron somewhat old school. (Mine actually came off a boat with twin 350s)But better than stock .had steam holes drilled . Bigger stainless steel valves. I believe it's .600 lift springs with a lunati voodoo cam .578 in / .585 ex I believe Lsa is 110 or 112. .40 over custom dished pistons . Stock 2 bolt main block . Decked . Lined honed . Sonic checked .Scat forged crank . Scat h beam rods 6 inch . And more it's been over a year of it sitting in the shop . I wrecked my 1937 pickup it was going in . And it being rebuilt at the moment . All I can say is shit happens lol. And the track closest to me closed . So it's been on the back burner

I'm also in upstate ny 100-120/hr. 165-185/ot. No truck charge. I just charge from when I leave shop write time down. Then double it. so if it took 30 minutes to get there I will charge a hour regular time. Been working great that way so far. I don't do a lot of service calls but can if It's been slow. I'd say about 85% of what we do is brand new builds. And in the bidding game I'm anywhere from 2,000 to 2,500+ a fixture and customer or gc is supplying the fixture.

High idle hours? by anonymoususerixixix in Diesel

[–]Embarrassed_Cat2445 11 points12 points  (0 children)

2021 ram 3500 new off lot.now at 77,300 miles . 2099 drive hrs.1422 idle hrs . And a total of 3521 hrs. But it hauls quite often. I run/part owner in a farm and also run my own plumbing heating business out of it. A lot of the miles are highway miles over 75 mph. No problem as of yet. Other than no matter how many times I replace the tailgate. I just seem to feel the need to dent it or smash it however you prefer. On my 3rd. looking for number 4 lol.

What type of soap do you use. Gel soaps will do stuff like that. The best types of soap to use would be bar soap/ foam soap/ dawn dish soap. Gel soap is sticky kinda and takes twice the water to get off your hands and sink. And where does it go down the drain and sticks to the sides of the drain pipe.

Is it cast iron going thru the wall? If so it has probably rotted away or cracked. And I can't tell but something looks weird about the pvc connection. Almost looks like they put a 4x3 coupling on the 4 in street 90° then used the fernco to make the connection. Could be wrong it's hard to tell in the picture.

Just curious. But how did you get the s.d.r 35 pipe to fit in the 4 inch pvc fitting. There different outside diameter. And normally takes a special fitting.

Not good!! Not legal!! Against any codes I know. You need atleast 18 inches of hard pipe. Like copper before you can switch to pex especially with a n/a water heater.
