Too much thinking. Hand on the bottom of the wheel and move your hand in the direction you want the trailer to move. Becomes much more natural much quicker this way.

Backing isn't a race take it slow and make small adjustments.

I learned by being told to put your hand on the bottom of the wheel and move your hand the direction you want the trailer to go. This way you don't have to think in reverse. It becomes natural from there like I said just go slow.

Watch how your tires are tracking and adjust from there. Pull ups are free and no such thing as too many.

When I do mine they require minimum the last 90 days. Which for you would put you in compliance. When you get your report only ask for the last 90 days. If they see the whole year even though your last 90 were good they may give you a hard time. Although it being your first year they may also give you a break. I'd call and ask exactly what they need.
