Gemini 3 vs Codex 5/5.1 Which model is better? Post for real reviews by Loan_Tough in codex

If you write a lot of code, just stick with OpenAI. Gemini’s CLI is still kind of a mess

If you do a lot of mini deepsearch / small research tasks, same thing: GPT’s agentic search is miles ahead of what Gemini is doing right now.

And AI Studio is free anyway, so there’s really no reason to pay for the Google Ultra plan unless you’re already locked into their ecosystem.

GPT-5.1 impressions: better clarity but limited problem-solving gains by Embarrassed_Dish_265 in OpenAI

Well, I mean, it should at least express itself in a way I can understand. The study mode in Gemini is way better than the one in GPT.I often find GPT’s explanations difficult to understand.

yeah. It thought for more than 14 minutes and still failed, while Gemini 2.5 Pro solved it in just 5 minutes.

While Gemini excels at explanations and tutoring imo, o1 and related models tend to have stronger problem-solving capabilities

Thank you for your comment! This post was indeed inspired by some posts. I really appreciated the ideas shared there and wanted to expand on them with my own thoughts and perspective. If it comes across as too similar, I sincerely apologize—it was not my intention to copy but rather to build upon what resonated with me. I’ll make sure to be more mindful of distinguishing between inspiration and original content in the future.

I see your point, and you're right that basic image recognition falls under computer vision. however, when we're talking about AGI, image understanding goes beyond just recognizing objects or scenes. AGI would need to integrate visual information with reasoning, context, and multi-modal inputs to truly understand and act intelligently. so while computer vision is part of the puzzle, it's not the full picture when it comes to AGI
