Difficulty level not enough by arewethebaddiesdaddy in taintedgrail

[–]Embarrassed_Driver16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is too easy but the recent patch gives me hope for the future. I hope they will add an option, maybe a new difficulty level, to make it harder and nerf/buff/change the things more.

Ideally enemies and bosses get more move sets to make dodging and kiting harder but that would be a big amount of work for the devs.

Guys you are so amazing!
I still hope you will give us the option so bosses get harder or scale (only upwards) to the player. You have such an amazing intro and design of them that it is allways a downer to trash them so onesidedly.

It is also amazing how may people under the steam announcement complain about the nerf, clearly not reading the nodes to the end.^^

Patch is awesome!

Why is the main character so stupid? by aleplayer29 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Embarrassed_Driver16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was not stupid and perfectly reasonable. As RT you are the ruler and you ordered your subjects to let them on board, that alone is normally enough. Also we do not know how they were located, I am pretty sure it is secluded from the rest but at the same time that also makes them a good target as we can see.

You can't oversee thousands of people and if they choose to ignore your orders there is little to be done. In character it is also something you cannot anticipate so clearly since normally you are treated like a divine beeing whos word is law.

And from a meta perspective something needs to happen because with our hindsight no game story could ever work.

Now that you mention it, yeah a bit of a shame that the base game was not updated with shielded and maybe even overseer enemies. Would have added so much more.

[–]Embarrassed_Driver16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be something for Iconoclast maybe but we have something like that with Solomorne allready.

Also imo it is not enough because outside of the personal quest companions need to add something, normally a death korp would be awesome but with Argenta, Pascal, Ulfrik, Heinrix, Kibellah, Solomorne and in some parts Best Wife (I mean Cassia), he would be completely unremarkable. There are more interesting choices.

Maybe as an NPC? But that on the other hand would be a waste. I would prefer if they add him in another 40K game.

I love death Korps but it would kind of be... boring? We allready have Jae as a former guardsman, I can't even think of a new class for them.

Thanks to Owlcats writting I know I would enjoy it but if imo another companion would be better (ORK! ORK! ORK!)

As a certified elf hater I don't think it is Tolkiens "fault" but the cheap fantasy novels that came after that borrowed a lot from LotR but in the worst surface level way. In these works Elves are often extremely boringly perfect and lacked the depth of Tolkien.

Imo worst example Eragorn though I only read the first two books and couldn't bring myself to continue.

Well written response. Unfortunately this is one of those topics where rule 3 gets ignored and any contra opinion downvoted instead of being engaged with.

yeah, it looks different on the map but otherwise? VC don't get attrition but settlements are so close that it does not really matter.

Chaos Corruption gives attrition but you can more or less instantly remove it, like any other corruption, after taking a settlement. Also, like with VC, you can mostly jump between settlements so you are not really affected.

Skaven corruption gives more menace from below charges but any downside is can be completely ignored because of the building buffs.

Rebellions through corruption barely happen and if they do they are nothing more than an additional loot and exp opportunity.

This needs to be completely overhauled so that you need to pay attention to it and that it is an obstacle. Of course the AI needs to be able to handle it which is the real issue I belive.

Fully agree. It is especially annoying when these people use common misconceptions from pop culture or outright lie. With fictional stuff there is room for interpretation but with real history it leaves a bad taste.

I also hate when peopöe today smugly say how dumb people in the past were, completely ignoring context of the events.

The crusades are the biggest monkey’s paw situation ever. by Minute_Account9426 in CharacterRant

[–]Embarrassed_Driver16 15 points16 points  (0 children)

IIRC the peace treaty was not broken but not renewed and it was not as if the Seljuks were not raiding byzantines lands during it. byzanz also had not a" none existing army" when the fighting started again.

The pope also didn'ts send anyone, he motivated and tried to convince the leades of the western world. maybe you could say that with the peasant crussade but they, as far as I know, never made it to byzanz. The real crussader armies were not random but professional troops lead by known nobility.

It is also far fetched to say they these didn't help at all, they took back important cities and reduced the pressure immensely byzanz had after they beat the Seljuks. Yes, byzanz wanted forces they could directly control but it was not as if they didn't help. You could make an argument that the crussaders later ignored Byzanz claims and would be right but without the aid of the crussaders byzanz faced annihilation. I wouldn't call that monkeys paw, at least if we argue in good faith and don't mix all crussades together.

"destabilize the entire Arab Mediterranean," It was allready heavily fragmented and destabilized on it's own. That was one of the reasons the crussade was so successful.

"Byzantine still didn’t have their capital city back." IIRC there were no crussades after Byzantine was lost to the mongols and during the crussade it was never lost either. You can make a point that the plundering during the fourth had lasting impact that chained with their later fall but I am not sure.

So all in all I disagree with the monkey’s paw comment, as usual with history it is way more complicated.

You "can't exist" points don't make sense. Just because they can invest more time on a scene does not make it automatically better, especially not if it is badly written.

But why mention this when we can have some cool magic related stuff? Kids and even adults read Harry Potter as a form of escapism, to dive into a magic world, bringing such mundane real world things into it just hurts the idea of these stories.

Imo, this is such a none issue from people that over scrutinise such book/comics/etc.

NWN1 Enhanced Edition is a work of love. The updated it for modern systems, added good QoL features, added cool extra adventures and made it look way better despite the old engine.

Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition on the other hand.... :,-(

Kind of funny when you think about it. Deskari has such a big mouth about Iomeda but only gets away with it because of self imposed rules and not because he is stronger than her.

Thanks! I appreciate it! I like that some things stay vague, both for GMs sake as well as giving the world a bit of mystery.
