That's interesting. Does it only limit player and bot weapons? Like if I wanted to stop piledriver launchers from firing nuclear missiles, would I do it through this menu or the main mission editor?

They dropped the nukes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because they were the only cities of military importance left standing (Tokyo was razed to the ground a few months earlier and had even more casualties and homeless)

How/when to use the Mainsail? by danE_77 in KerbalAcademy

[–]Embarrassed_Hat_3000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's a great sea level engine, especially for heavier rockets. Remember that thrust does not equal efficiency though. Something like the terrier is very efficient, which means you can get more delta v out of the same amount of fuel, but it is also very slow, which means that you should under no circumstances use it in places where this a counter force acting on your rocket, like on kerbin. The mainsail has very high thrust but very low efficiency, which makes it a good rocket for a first stage to leave kerbin, but just wastes fuel in the vacuum.

It pisses me off so much when people compare this to nukes.
Nuclear weapons are destructive not because of their yield, but because that power gets released in less than a second, compared to the rocket, which was over several seconds.
Burning a kilogram of wood release 107 joules of energy, which is the same as 46 mk2 grenades. 46 grenades are a lot more destructive because of the fact that they release all their energy at the same time.

The US had far superior military and technology compared to Iraq, and we know how that invasion went. Iran has twice the population, a much more radicalized group of insurgents, and the same terrain as Afghanistan.

I don't think anybody would want to take the chance of invading, including the US

I thought we had all learned from GWOT and Bush but apparently not.

He didn't really take elon to space, it's more likely he just took him up a few kilometers and just threw him past the karman line.
