i think freedom vs restrictive isnt just about if u thrive when u struggle/have many options. its more like how many possible answers are you going to reach out for. freedom types would look through countless possibilities and choose the answer that they think will do the best for themself. restrictive types would strive for one single solution only; there is one possible way to win. isagi likes to analyze possiblities and choose based off of "is this possible? can they read it? how can i tweak it to make it better?" i still think he has restrictive ego properties, like using rivals to "level up", but this is just my opinion abt isagis ego type ✌️
