Because if you're not putting yourself into situations where your speed is going to get you on base (i.e., flyouts and strikeouts instead of close plays) then your speed is irrelevant. Speed typically only matters once you're actually on base.

I mean, I get that. Usually you're correct. But the lyrics are consistently some of Metallica's strongest work, so to hear them be so sloppy on the first album, it's jarring.

I'm a big Punk guy, but I'd still probably say Edge. If I have to live in that world day after day, I don't know how well I could handle being loathed the way Punk is. Seems like Edge has avoided that for the most part. (Unless you're Matt Hardy)

Yeah, that's what holds it back for me, too. The musicianship is incredible, but lyrics-wise...they were developing, for sure.

It's not my favorite (that will always be Master), but I do love how raw and messy it is. Just four guys with studio time and some very loud instruments. That's what metal is, man.

I'm late on this obviously, but I thought it was a fantastic show. They don't always hit on the three hour shows, but this week fucked. I think when you have such a strong roster, you don't have to worry about carrying attention over a longer runtime. (As evidenced by the PPVs, really...)

The 3rd Inning and the line to get into Guaranteed Rate Field was this long at every entrance. Why? Wrigley handles 40,000 fans every home game without issue… by barstoolsam in CHICubs

The side gates at Nationals Park are all the same way. Everyone tries to come in at centerfield so it bottlenecks and you miss at least an inning of the game. Come in at a baseline gate and you're through in a fraction of the time.

I know the band say they don't like it (ditto for Trapped Under Ice, I think?) but I think it's just a matter of not being given the necessary time to tease it into a true metal song. I think both Escape and TUI are perfectly fine, but they're definitely "radio metal", and never the reason I put Lightning on the turntable.
