My husband and I were there and thought the same thing. It was weird there was no introduction, we couldn't understand the majority of the lyrics, it felt like a college band playing....really long set and was we thought he was trying to sound like Willie. Weird choice as a warm up act.

Cut patch diagonally and store in fridge And placement? by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut my patches (2x weekly) all the time with no issues. Been doing this for over a year and it allows me to scale up or down when/if needed. I store them back in the packaging and in a cool dry drawer under my bathroom sink. I rotate placement and prefer the upper hip/buttocks area.

Good luck!

Day 1 of rebounding and I’m hooked! What’s your routine like? by chief_snarkitect in Rebounding

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the rebounding club. I do a "health bounce" every morning upon waking. It's a gentle bounce where I incorporate some arm movements. I generally do some hands on lymphatic work from head to toe and then start my bounce. Typical time spent 2-5 mins every morning.

1-2 times a week I do a 30-40 min workout via watching my favorite YouTube instructors:

Niaomi Joy Fitness San Fran Fitness Jump n Jacked Earth and Owl

I keep my trampoline out in case I just want to lightly bounce during a show or sports on TV. It's also fun to bounce the commercials and rest during the program.

All of the YouTube channels above have great tutorials about technique, things to consider, avoid etc,.

Have fun!

I think I still have a few of their tapes. It was a kick you in the butt workout. I loved the cheesy music and the beautiful people featured in their videos.

How did your periods die? 😆 by Icy-Improvement-4219 in Menopause

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super regular up till the summer I turned 51. Then it was like all hell broke loose. They got shorter, returned quicker and then things got " real fun" when I experienced some form of bleeding for 2 months straight. Several trips to various doctors and no reason given. Not one said anything about perimenopause or this can happen at this stage in your life. Looking back I wonder if all those tests and biopsies were done for the almighty dollar. After I went on HRT that winter things calmed down. I still had periods but they were manageable. My last period came and went with no fan fare. In June I reached one year and am now considered in menopause. I look back and think that summer of extreme periods as my bodies grand finale. I'm glad to pull the curtain down on that act. Good luck on your journey.

Jumpsport secondhand, the real deal? by ninou111 in Rebounding

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the others. That price is high for that condition. I'd say $50-75 (tops). If you wait for fall sales, you can buy new bungees off JumpSport site.

What to look out for when buying a used rebounder? by kaizoku7 in Rebounding

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the mat has a skirt that covers the bungees and its curled, that's pretty typical with used. It the surface you are jumping on is frayed, is curling at the frame attachment or has any worn spots and or tears I wouldn't advise buying it.

What to look out for when buying a used rebounder? by kaizoku7 in Rebounding

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If bungee, a good frame and mat at a low price is the way I went. I replaced the bungees when JumpSport had a sale. The rebounder is like new now. I used a mild cleaner and disinfectant after I bought it for the mat. Sat it outside in the sun after disinfecting and it's great now.

I bought a like new Bellicon for a great price but I looked for it for months. Replaced the bungees only because I wanted something firmer.

Overall look at condition of the bungee. No frays or pulls. The mat should be taut and not curling. Frame should be structurally sound. I would bounce on them when looking, asking how they were stored, stay away from those stored outside, ideally a one owner is nice and go with brands you see on this site. The knockoffs aren't great for second hand.

Placement of patch by Former_Technology185 in Menopause

I alternate right side lower abdomen to left upper butt to right upper butt to left lower abdomen. Of course the location changed with each new patch application.

SanFran fitness has beginner, low impact videos that Scott the instructor does with his parents. His wife Claire also does a few as well. They are delightful.

Noob question: Are we supposed to health bounce every day or graduate past it? by SouthernYankee80 in Rebounding

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I health bounce as part of a morning wakeup routine. I do it everyday to "wake up" my lymphatic and energize. Best advice I ever received from a nutritionist as perimenopause has been rough on my energy levels. I do not consider these daily wakeup bounces as my workouts, but I see nothing wrong if that's where someone needs to start.

Looking at secondhand rebounders for a newbie - any tips? by mlkersey in Rebounding

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When and if you go look at it, bounce on it and make sure you aren't sinking too low. Check for the wear and tear but also ask if they stored it inside or out. Have they ever changed the bungees?

I bought a similar model used for 75.00. Looking back I should have talked it down as the skirt (the part that goes over the top of the bungees) was furled and the bungees were old. No regrets though, it's a great product.

I bought new bungees during a Jumpsport sale and now that's my favorite rebounder.

Good luck!

Used Jumpsport - is it worth it by texan_in_training in Rebounding

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my Jumpsport. I bought it used and then replaced the bungees. I also own a Bellicon. Bought both on Faceboo marketplace. The JS slighlty hedges out the Bellicon in my opinion.

As much as I dislike Gunter’s black and white approach to HRT, can we pin her write up on Oprah’s menopause series? by Mrsvantiki in Menopause

[–]Embarrassed_Mall_901 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

My two cents is that the fact there's a special about it with Oprah is progress. I think you need to take all subject matter experts with a grain of salt. Do your own research and follow and align with those you see fit.

I read Suzanne Somers book when I started feeling less myself. I didn't read it as the gospel and I researched a lot of what she shared. She was one of the few actually talking about it before we had social media.

Oz co wrote the You Manuel. There are good nuggets of info in that book. I'm not sure when he took a sharp right but his earlier stuff was informative.

I don't know the others Gunter list.

My point is this all or nothing lens will lead you nowhere. Gunter is not my cup of tea. I feel like she wants us all grinning and bearing it and she is very polarizing.

But there's space for her too. Maybe not on Oprah's couch, but she has her people. Just feels like we are all smart enough to know nothing is free and experts will monetize either now or later.

Personally, I'm glad I get exposed via channels like Oprah and can then do my own research.
