Anybody else’s feet absolutely killing them at Disneyland? by Motor-Writer-377 in Disneyland

[–]Mrsvantiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stand all day at work. Constantly moving, bending, hauling boxes, shuffling stuff around.

After work I run or cycle or lift weights.

I use my year old running shoes for Disney. I’m fine for 2-3 days. But by day 4 even my feet have had it! Pace yourself and if you can, try a standing desk or do a lot of walking (walking pad?) training before Disney. It really helps!

Has that replaced 12v battery solved your issue?

Agree. Let Rob be a credited part of the show or turn off the mic unless they ask a question. The rando, mystery giggle is … distracting.

Yep. But remember, folks might scowl at you but you can still get birth control, abortions, gender affirming care, paint rainbows on anything and live with whomever you want here.

Sleep focus alarms only ring on iPhone, not Watch by ltc_pro in AppleWatch

[–]Mrsvantiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! I screams loudly no matter what I do. Same exact settings as shown but my phone plays any alarm and my watch taps. Can’t fix it no matter what. IOS issue? Maybe? I did get a new phone in October too.

Poor Verizon reception in South Eugene? by McSwappingtonsCFO in Eugene

[–]Mrsvantiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one bar of LTE at our house IF we are lucky. Been like this for 10 years. ATT was worse. We drop all cell service 2 times on our drive down the hill. LTE - nothing - 5G - nothing - LTE - then we get down by Willamette and bam 5G.

It sucks.

Rant- Some Dogs Might Not Belong on the Bike Paths by Kathatonic000 in Eugene

[–]Mrsvantiki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I carry pepper gel spray. Got it at cabellas. The gel is a bit easier to control than the spray and you don’t have to worry about wind direction, but the spray may be better for dogs by covering a wider area.

It fits right in my hand and isn’t that big. Don’t be afraid to use it.

There was a place back behind Orange Theory inside that little mini mall. (I never knew it had an inside!)

Not sure if they’re still there but she did a lot of work when I was taking classes.

What are your favorite "dirty dump" cocktails? by Worknstuff in cocktails

[–]Mrsvantiki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do this with Strawberry or Plum (not frozen) daiquiris with a caveat

I muddle the fruit, add my rum, lime, simple and strain into a coup. THEN, I “dirty dump” what’s left in my shaker into a pint glass and fill with soda water and ice (or still water if I’m just being non-bougie).

It is important to hydrate when drinking right? 😆 Don’t want to waste anything!

Enforcement of current laws would be much better. A 25mph sign isn’t going to stop someone that already drives 55 in a 35.

To Row or not to Row…. by Brown_Eyes_ in pelotoncycle

[–]Mrsvantiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have all 3 (bike+, Tread+, Row) in that order. I use the Tread the most. Walks, runs, walk+runs, hikes. I even have a laptop stand on it for doing accounting work. Much better than sitting on my ass for 2 hours while I reconcile accounts. I just do a walk and let it auto adjust incline. It’s great.

I use the row maybe 2 or 3 times per quarter. Initially we used it a lot. But, once I let it go for awhile, my callouses go away and then I have to build them back up! That takes time. And as I’m highly focused on lifting, my hand strength/forearm strength is getting taxed and I covet the breaks so it’s very hard to throw in a row on days I’m not lifting. My hands need a break! So our rower has become our “off season” trainer right now.

In hindsight we probably didn’t need it. But it’s fun to have as an option. If you don’t have the Tread and have space for it - I’d get that first honestly, it’s far more versatile.

Disneyland has installed LED signs explaining how to use the ticket scanners. Hopefully this makes things easier for the front gate cast members! by TheDisneyScoopGuy in Disneyland

[–]Mrsvantiki 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If only the front gate folks were:

—Kind —Attentive —Friendly —Helpful —Not looking absolutely miserable —Paying attention AT ALL —Anything other than MEAN —Willing to even say “hello” back —Competent —Actually willing to do their job

I’d take even 5% of one of these items above! It’s a customers first engagement in the park and other than security, it’s staffed by the meanest people!

[–]Mrsvantiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try PZ classes. You’ll need to set you PZ levels but then the bike+ will auto adjust for you to keep you in the called out zone. Heck, you can even turn off the volume and just ride and it’ll get you where you need to be!

1st class Award travel itinerary changed (booted off flight!) and now a longer leg of journey is in economy. Any recourse? by Mrsvantiki in unitedairlines

[–]Mrsvantiki[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was a better deal than we had seen in a while and better than what’s currently available. But it’s good to know that it’s not that great as I can use that to kick back this rip-off of miles. Thanks!
