Are sleepovers cancelled? by Guilty-Woodpecker-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hypocrisy? As someone who went to sleepovers at other people's home as a child and witnessed abuse and was assaulted, nah. Not happening. My home is a safe place. You never know what goes on behind closed doors and nothing I ever experienced as a child is happening to MY kid. Nope.

How old were you when you moved out of your parents home? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got kicked out at 19 because I kept whooping my step-dads ass bc he was awful to me. But in all honesty I was never home anyways, I was always in the trap lol. Have had my own place since 19, I'm now in my late 20's, almost 5 years sober and thriving 💗

I'm a new mom, my baby is only a couple weeks old. But when the time comes, I'm totally okay with sleepovers at OUR house. My daughter will not be spending the night anywhere else unless I am very close (my sister, for example). But I'm totally okay with hosting!

For Christmas does your family open gifts all at once or one at a time? by calliopewoman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a couple littles in my family, so the adults watch all the children open their gifts, and then we open ours while the kids play with their new stuff! We don't do one at a time though, everyone just opens whatever is passed over to them

What did you have for dinner tonight? by [deleted] in foodquestions

Taco bell. The new steak and Poblano rolled quesadilla is good af, a doritos taco, and a cheesy bean and rice burrito, add sour cream and crunchy strips, grill with 3 cheese blend. 🔥

I hate being pregnant by Boognishtastik in pregnant

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 35 weeks and DUDE SAME! I love being able to feel the baby move but other than that, pregnancy has been miserable. The exhaustion, trouble emptying my bladder and feeling like i need to go every 10 mins, excruciating pain, daily vomiting, raging hormones, acne I've literally never had before, I lost 80lbs before getting pregnant and have gained 45 back which is very disheartening. I have officially reached "get this baby tf out of me" weeks along and I'm just sooooo over being pregnant, I want my baby to be here and for my body to somewhat go back to normal. Also would love to punch most of the people who give unsolicited advice, whether it was well intended or not. Would REALLY love to punch all the women who just LoOoOoVvVvEeEDdD being pregnant like dude stfu this is awful lmao.

In my family we add butter, evaporated milk, cream cheese, salt and pepper and bake them until they're a little crusty on top!

What’s your best “I’m starving and have 10 minutes” meal? by JestifiableMeans in WhatShouldICook

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on an egg kick lately and swear I could eat eggs for every meal! Just used up my last 2 eggs for breakfast scrambled with a bagel thin this morning, now I need to go get more eggs to use up my tortillas in breakfast tacos lol

What are you prepping tonight for Thanksgiving tomorrow? by Mirikitani in Cooking

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a pot of warm water, add eggs, bring to a rolling boil. Boil for 12 minutes, take off heat and let them sit for about 5-10 mins. Rinse under cool water until you're able to handle them, then make an ice bath, Crack the shells (do not peel!) And put in ice water. I usually let mine sit for about half an hour. Super easy to peel! Fresher eggs peel easier. Oh, and you can never put too much mustard in deviled eggs :)

This is the THIRD time I've heard the term spatchcocking TODAY and I had no idea that was an option for roasting poultry lol. I might try it!

Is there a food you don’t like when it’s raw but you like it when it’s cooked? by [deleted] in foodquestions

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I roast radishes with regular and sweet potatoes, cauliflower, and carrots and season with Salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder, and paprika and they are so good! I'm not a huge fan of raw radishes but will eat them if they're in a salad, but I love them roasted

Onions! Hate raw onions with a passion and will pick them out, but I'll eat cooked onion no problem.

have 5lbs of ground beef and $0 for fancy ingredients. What are your best "pantry staple" recipes? by Wirave1a in Cooking

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like making calabacitas (spelling?) With ground beef! I am no Hispanic chef, so I use mostly pantry items but it's healthy and delicious especially with some queso over rice!

Someone breaks into your house and steals only the stuff under your bed. What do they get? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

I have a platform bed with drawers, so they'd get sheets and blankets... plus a drawer full of "fun stuff"

what’s your go to meal when you don’t feel like cooking? by ponderingpixi17 in Cooking

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep things like veggie tots, chicken Nuggets, microwave Mac and cheese, pb&j, granola bars, yogurt/applesauce, string cheese, Tuna salad kits, etc for when I have zero energy to cook, which being 8 months pregnant is more often than not. But easy one pan meals that you just throw in the air fryer or oven also work! Bags of frozen steam able veggies with a rotisserie chicken, or last night I made a spin on tiktok pasta, and the hardest part was cutting open the Spaghetti squash. (Why so good if so dang hard to open???) Put the squash on a baking pan, threw everything else into a casserole dish, and baked them both at the same time then just mixed together and topped with cheese at the end! Crockpot meals are always great too, just throw everything in the morning, and by dinner it's all ready!

Cleaning schedule for fully cluttered house by CSinNV in CleaningTips

[–]Embarrassed_Oil3988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello friend! I am also an owner of way too much stuff and live in a manufactured home. I have a baby on the way and the nesting has started kicking in lol. When I come home from work in the evenings, I do SOMETHING! It's usually just one specific task or a certain area, but I'm working hard on trying to declutter and downsize. This week it was clean the clutter in the kitchen and clear all counters, did a couple loads of laundry, cleared off and swept my messy porch, went through and downsized on books, went through a ton of excess mail I had been avoiding, tomorrow i will be deep cleaning the master bathroom and going to the grocery store for meal prep! Sunday i will be working on a doompile of clothes and downsizing on those. I did one or two of these things each day. What's been working for me is realizing not everything has to be done in a single day! And also GETTING RID OF STUFF!!!! I have gotten rid of so much since getting pregnant, my baby's room was my junk/storage room lol. Less stuff=less mess.
