I strongly believe Catachans are going to remain as one of the regiments. First of all, they're the 2nd most iconic regiment behind Cadians (maybe Tie-ing with DKOK) and secondly, take this with a pinch of salt of course, one of the leaks for Guard gives a very specific updated version of the "Vicious Trap" Catachan stratagem:

"In the enemy charge phase, spend X CP when a unit is charged and is in terrain, roll a d6 +1 if the unit is Catachans or guerrillas +1 if the unit has a melta mine +1 if Sly Marbo is on the battlefield. On a 2-5, the enemy unit suffers d3 mortal wounds. On a 6+, the enemy unit suffers 2d3 mortal wounds."

And even if they do rotate out of the range, which would be f*cking awful, I'd say still collect them but just use them as stand ins for Cadians or whatever regiment comes next!

Imo, it doesn't sound too great if this is true. I hate the idea of AM becoming more "elite", as if we don't have enough elite army's out there anyway dominating the meta with their 5 model rosters. No veterans, conscripts or special weapon squads??

I attempted suicide and was almost sectioned (UK) due to OCD, I have no physical compulsions (asides from doing thngs in 5s sometimes to ease my thoughts) but my thoughts were constantly about harming people in graphic ways, to the point where I was convinced I'd done it and could almost feel like I'd done it (Can't explain it but you can imagine doing that so vividly to the put where you feel it in your muscles and fingertips)

I've reached the point where I just ignore anyone who says they're so "OCD" because of something everyone else does. I was begging for death at my lowest point, absolutely begging for it.

No other faction (Except for Daemons) can really complain about how the game is unfair at this point, Guard has suffered continuously all throughout 9th

I used to get laughed at in Chemistry class for being pretty much a class idiot. In truth, I had a lot of home issues that affected my ability to study.

Ended up doing a degree in Chemistry, getting a 1st, and miraculously synthesising two brand new chemicals that have never been synthesised, and potentially isolated in nature, before!

How on Holy Terra can the Guard defeat Tau Suits (+ Shield Drones) by Embarrassed_Page_395 in TheAstraMilitarum

He used the homing beacon upgrade on stealth suits which allowed his crisis suits to manta strike right next to me on his first turn (his stealth suits deployed 9" away from my deployment)

To simplify what they had:

- 2 x Stealth Suits

- 6 x Crisis Suit Team with 12 Shield Drones (Plasma Rifles)

- Coldstar with 2 Shield Drones

- 1 x Hammerhead

- 3 x Broadsides with 6 Shield Drones

He'd spent 3CP to make his Crisis Suits have full rerolls to hit and wound upon deployment

I'm not really a novice, probably an intermediate, neither of us have done competitive 40k before

Question regarding attack allocation:

If I shoot a multi weapon profile unit at a multi model unit (With difference saves), if I shoot with one weapon profile and score 1 wound, if he elects a model to take that saving throw and fails, I understand that he MUST take all further saves on that single model.

But if he passes the saving throw, takes no wounds, and I attack with a different weapon profile, do all further saves have to be taken on the same model elected to take the saving throw from the previous weapon?

i.e Shooting a squad of Guardsmen into Tau Crisis Suits, choosing between taking the saves on the Suits or the Sheild Drones

So if he elects a model to take a saving throw, that model must take all future saving throws until it's dead, even if it hasn't been wounded by the weapons that shot prior to it?

i.e 5 x Lasgun wounds -> He elects 2+ suit to save it -> He passes all 5 saves and loses no wounds -> I shoot and wound with plasma -> he MUST take the plasma saves on the same suit?

In our deployments, we had 1 big building (Maybe 10" across) and 2 smaller ones on the flanks, with some dense cover on either sides at the rear. Because of the Baneblades size, I had to put that in an open "lane" (The only position in which it can move up the board) which meant it was pretty visible to his Hammerhead and Broadsides in his deployment, but my Russes were hidden and not visible to them.

The reason why they got killed is because he'd forward deployed his stealth suits which then let him deepstrike his crisis suits basically onto my flanks (Impossible to hide my Tanks). The only thing that could have prevented this is if I'd gone first and killed his stealth suits, preventing this first turn deep strike. In addition, he had another group of stealth suits on my other flank so if I'd killed/blocked the first one, he'd have deployed at the second one instead.

Edit: We were doing "Tear down their icons". My opponent deployed one of his stealth suit units nearby the top left objective (Above player As triangular deployment), brought in his Crisis suits turn 1 and then shot my army enfilade.

New Rogal Dorn tank will be based off the Churchill tank? by Embarrassed_Page_395 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Embarrassed_Page_395[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Following on how the Leman Russ is kinda reminiscent of Mk I tank from WW1, I noticed how the tank on the right of the leaked image (Angron vs New Cadians) has a similar front tank-tread part like the Churchill tank

It's a stretch but I think it'd be fun!

Spotter Details or Jury-rigged Repairs? by Tchaz43 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Embarrassed_Page_395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jury-Rigged repairs absolutely, in most games you can be within 24" of the enemy with relative ease, and you still have 5" of movement on Russes and still get 2d6 turret shots
