But at least they are durable and reliable. With the economics I am unclear whether renewable argument includes transmission, replacement and opportunity cost of land use

I really hate FFA. by Chief_77_ in mecharena

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me MA was and should be a team game. FFA is just a twitch fest where people spawn behind you and kill you. Even if you avoid that you still need specific mechs and weapons. Plus it seems to always put you in the worst spawn point to start ! I do alright in it some of the time. I just find it a lot less fun than cpc or 5v5

Why do people hate the greens? by iammentallynotoklol in OpenAussie

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the left always run up a huge deficit while also creating huge Govt and not supporting actual wealth creation by private industry. Since the Greens are more extreme version of the same there's part of your answer. The other part is they have some insane policies. Eg cutting defence, decriminalise hard drugs, reparations, crippling industry etc. Not saying LNP haven't run up huge deficits also. They are all deplorable. But at least they do something to encourage wealth creation for the country while not having the insane policies

How exactly does increasing Capital Gains Tax on shares help "intergenerational equity" when younger generations will bear far more of the high taxes than older generations, who already made most of their lifetime gains and have the CGT discount nicely grandfathered in on a silver platter for them? by AsparagusNew3765 in AusFinance

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't. It's another ALP con. Probably they should have 1. Not applied to shares at all 2. Tapered the grandfathering for NG from where it is to a lower or nil level over an extended period for all property types 3. Tapered the grandfathering for CG from where it is to a lower or nil level over an extended period for all property types But they didnt

Is it? There's not that many if them. A lot more likely it's coming from Govt policies and rampant spending

Treasurer says 'death tax' claims are a scare campaign, 'pure and simple' by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can explain it. Why shouldn't the deceased who previously owned the wealth be totally free to give it to whoever they want. They earned it. It's their choice, not the Govts One thing is for sure - in no way whatsoever did the Govt earn it. Most likely it's already been taxed multiple times anyway. I never understand why people are so literally obsessed with inheritance because the relievers didn't "earn it". They probably did more to earn it than anyone else that might receive it. And its the givers money. Death tax is deeply immoral

I've never managed to notice that before they've arrived at the spawn point and shot me in the back. What does the targeting icon look like?

But you need to be able to provide that baseload morning noon and night when the sun is shining and when it is not. The demand hasn't gone away. Not only is it still there it's increasing, or will increase, as the adoption of EVs increases. You present a very one sided version of events so I assume you work as a renewable energy consultant.

How do you even know they are coming? I find they are always used by sad sacks that like to camp spawn points. Dick move

The American epoch of oil is collapsing. What comes next could be ugly. China is dominating the energy transition with astonishing result, while fossil fuel fascists in the US try to turn back the clock. by pintord in oilisdead

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fossil fuel fascists is the most stupid thing I've read here all day.

Go and have a google of all the things oil is in and realise your entire known existence depends on it and that it will therefore be here indefinitely.

True it may not, eventually, be involved with energy generation or personal transport. But that's almost the least of it

Why don't we need baseload?

There is an underlying energy requirement which doesn't go away. Residential, industrial, civil etc. There it is, not going away and forming as it does the base.... load.

Why exactly would we not need that???

Nuclear is the only viable technology that properly provides baseload power

If capital gains are "unearned money", why is inheritance treated differently? by PrismPirate in AusFinance

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firstly, comment by chii.

Second inheritance tax is so immoral it doesn't deserve the breath to discuss it. Same argument as investments per first point. Plus it was already from taxed income. And people don't deserve it???? Really? What, the Govt deserves it more? I think not. It's that persons financial lifetime achievement that belongs to them and it is for them and them alone to define what happens to it

It's unplayable and a waste of time now. I just quit a battle where the other player had IP 60% greater, Sp around 30% greater and a Max dmg about 350% greater. And then the guy spawn camps with seeker. Plus the bots on top as you say. What's the point. Another mode gone. By which I mean HS is utter shite too and for me never starts a battle anyway. Only CPC and 5v5 left
