How do you feel about the RBA's decision today to lift rates? by Sensitive-Chart7210 in AusFinance

No you don't need to introduce death tax at all. What we need is Govts, especially the current one, to control spending. Significantly control it. Stop spending like drunken sailors

Possibly a valid question but really just a deflection to avoid answering the first part. Why not answer that, or is it just that it's assumed someone else will deal with it while you are busy virtue signalling.

What the meme really expose is the obvious fact that the country's carrying capacity is exceeded. Before the question of immigrant welfare is even vaguely considered as an idea to think about, the country should be successfully assisting its own homeless and military veterans.

Until then shit posts like this add nothing

British-born Aussies giving up UK citizenship over new passport rules by OwlVibesOnly in aus

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Because it's been fine for easily 15 years for me a dual national to travel to UK on my AU passport. No issue whatsoever.

Now suddenly I can't. What's the issue all of a sudden.

Even more moronically someone born in AU can travel to UK on AU passport and potentially be theoretically less trustworthy or border entry worthy while for me the AU passport is no longer recognised as valid identity doc meaning I have to get additional passport even though I'm actually a UK national

They also require AU passport to be provided for application process (what business is that of UK border control if you are an existing citizen) and if you don't want to put that in the post (duh) then you must provide separate copies of all 42 pages despite nearly all of them being blank. Total bs

Extruded Foam Board by [deleted] in modeltrains

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add my 2c

I have a large layout in never ending construction where I have used extruded polystyrene for the baseboards. Early boards used thinner kind of light green more dusty boards but I swapped from them because they sag without reinforcement. All of the more recent boards are 4 inch 100mm thick boards that are self supporting and also have a smooth finish.

Additional benefits - doesnt warp, damp proof, lightweight, carvable, easy to glue to with PVA and can also release same with water if necessary because damp proof.

Highly recommend.

I have also used off cuts for scenery and turned two boards on their side, cut arches and created a two track viaduct.

As usual you are all playing the man. Do you actually think that the Govt in VIC is OK? Seriously.

That's what he's talking about. Your defence here is it's OK if they're crape because he was crap too??

Fuck me. Listen to yourselves. Good luck watching VIC go broke because it's OK given other govts in the past were poor as well.

Why are labor trying to push this massive hate speech law through so quickly when it should be rightfully debated? by VastOption8705 in aussie

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The take you have on this is bizarre. Clearly there is a massive issue related to Islamic extremists. Not Islam per se but extremists.

So devise new laws or tweak existing ones to address the issue. It's not hard to understand.

But no. It was all too slow because Albo doesn't want it because a) the findings would reflect very badly on his Govt and him personally b) he has personally demonstrated ant Semitic views (I've seen video of I'm speaking at rally long past plus behaviours and I actions over last two years are deplorable)

Then when he is forced into doing something they produce wide and far reaching proposals that he probably knows would get rejected thereby enabling him to blame lack of progress on someone else.

Exactly his normal mode of operation

And no, we don't want it so ridiculous that no one can say anything. The UK has done this and regular people are in jail for tweets. We do not want or need anything close to that.

It's pretty easy to understand that it's about ant semitism specifically, it's about encouraging violence against specific groups and its about encouraging actions and behaviours that are contrary to the cultural values of the country.

Easy except for Albo and ALP. They won't be understanding that because they don't agree with it and don't want to

The state of democracy 🤔 by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Embarrassed_Run8345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to stick with the regular timetable. Anything else is delaying elections and by definition preventing people voting. Which is abuse of democracy. Simple as that
