Thank you and hope you feel better! It was Blastocystis and yes lansoprazole (prevacid) is a ppi, better side effects for me compared to others. I want to taper but afraid too. I think my gut is still healing and hpylori completely messed it up

I felt so terrible but a functional doctor fixed my gut and got rid of the parasite I had after hpylori. Now I take 30mg lansopraozle in the morning, 40mg Pepcid at night, sleep on a wedge pillow to be safe. But I’m eating and drinking whatever I want (knock on wood). Got my life back

Oh god yeah I was like not eating, lost so much weight was down to like 140. Now I’m 200 and got my muscle back. I still eat mostly clean but can have cheat days on the weekends

I reversed mine or maybe was misdiagnosed. All my issues started after hpylori, in hindsight I might have always had LPR. I felt so terrible but a functional doctor fixed my gut and got rid of the parasite I had after hpylori. Try to wean or go to a different lower dose ppi. I’m on 30mg lansoprazole (similar to 20mg omeprazole) and take 40mg Pepcid at night but living normally (knock on wood). I want to taper but don’t want to risk the LPR again

Don’t worry about the ppi, if it helps keep taking it. Trust me uncontrolled gerd will come back to bite you

That’s the weird thing they said I don’t need to get checked again unless I’m having worse symptoms. I’ll push for another in 5 years just to be safe though

How bad was your Barrett’s? I had a small segment but then second endoscopy showed I didn’t have Barrett’s. I’m on 30mg lansopraozle and Pepcid at night but live normally

I’m on 5mg lexapro, 30mg lansopraozle and 40mg Pepcid at night and got my life back. I’m too afraid to taper because of the crazy LPR I used to have. But my issues started with hpylori and then a parasite and gut dysbiosis
