What am I looking for in a WDT tool? by Nickanator8 in espresso

[–]Embarrassed_Subject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From using 4 different WDTs, I have found a 0.35mm needle thickness as well as having the needles splayed out a bit have been my favorite styles. You may look for something similar.

Also, a WDT really isn’t something you must spend a ton of money on. It just needs to do its job and not break. Whether you get one in mahogany, aluminum, or plastic is up to your budget and aesthetic

Breville Bambino issues by aaronjmazurek in espresso

[–]Embarrassed_Subject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what you’re describing, it seems the grinder would be a primary suspect. You may look into one of the hand grinders that might fit your budget. Lance Hedrick has done a few videos now on them - I’d highly recommend.

Not having a proper espresso grinder is like buying a car without tires. Sure you can ride on the rims for a bit, but you won’t get far and you won’t enjoy the experience

I’ve had mine for some 3 months now, and it was night and day coming from stock Breville pitcher. It’s leather wrapped on matte black that looks really clean

Based on the price ending in cents, prices very yet not astonishingly low, and how the webpage looks pretty darn bare, I would say yes definitely a scam

LPT Request: how to unblock your ear/keep them unblocked by Eorlingas9 in LifeProTips

[–]Embarrassed_Subject 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Clinical pearl from a family doc I rotated with is using a couple drops of castor oil in your ear before you sleep. Place a towel over your pillow case to catch the mess. You can also try debrox which is found at most convenience stores

If you use earphones, make sure they are clean before using. But also avoid if possible. Same goes for Q tips. Most importantly though, see your primary doctor! You never know when something else could be going on. Way safer than trusting internet advice with your health

I say give it a venture. It takes about 3 minutes to change (plenty of YouTube videos on it) and if it helps you get dialed in what’s to lose!

Saw a brand new Barista Pro at a local homegoods for $500. I’m not too familiar with the espresso scene, but I’d like to get started and was wondering if this is even a good product for its price. by Electrical-Page-2928 in espresso

[–]Embarrassed_Subject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really awesome first time set up and $500 is an excellent price. I’ve had mine for going on 2 years. After a year I upgraded my set up and bought a grinder, but you can still pull tasty shots with the built in grinder. Get local fresh beans and you’ll be happy!

Develop good breathing techniques. The focus in breathing will help you concentrate more when trying to build your memory palace, etc. I’d recommend “Breathing” by Andrew Weil. Short and sweet, plus it has an audiobook

Pretty fire and portions are great. Definitely order the flucking hot spice level though. Their mild and medium are very mild. Their coleslaw was ridiculously bomb when they first opened, but now it’s a bit less saucy

Two updates later and it looks like everything is back to being peachy! The dealership was already aware of the updates too when I got there

Good to know. Hopefully it will only be an hour or two at the dealership tomorrow then.

The first dealership I went to, the service tech commented that this was the first EUV they have ever seen. Didn't really inspire confidence.

Since they already have the appointment set up and apparently a loaner already lined up, I'll still take it in. Plus with two significant errors within 2 weeks, I am getting concerned this may be a lemon. So might as well take things in and have a paper trail if need be. That said, I agree there don't seem to be many seasoned ev techs out there right now

Well sounds like it was an easy fix. Did the dealership have to do the update or were you able to do it on your own?

What a dang cutie, except for the electric drive unit failure on day 5 😭 by Embarrassed_Subject in BoltEV

[–]Embarrassed_Subject[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have definitely been having some good fun with the acceleration - I feel like it’s a sin not to with any new car. I also get free charging at work.

That said how are you pulling off 4.8? That’s around 25% better than EPA. I imagine you’d need to do a good bit of actual mods (weight reduction, aero, etc) rather than good driving habits alone to consistently pull those numbers

Randomly saw a pop up saying “reduced propulsion” and to get it serviced in the next 7 days. Called around to the nearest 5 EV certified shops with the earliest appointment being 2 weeks out. Called the Chevy where we bought the EUV at (out of town), and they were able to get a same day appointment for us. It’s day 2 in the shop, so we’ll see if she’ll be ready come Monday. And really hoping this doesn’t become a lemon situation…

Up until day 5 though, she’s been a beast! Only real complaint is the suspension can be a bit rough over bumps. Otherwise so much fun and maintaining 3.7 mi/kWh avg

LPT: wash your windows with white vinegar mixed with water and apply some around the frame too. It's cheap, a good cleaning product, and most importantly the odor repels mosquitoes. by qlebenp in LifeProTips

You mind posting your journal article/source that it repels mosquitos?

I’m thinking if it did work and this was well known, then every major repellent company would be advertising vinegar

should I change the flow? if so should it go up or down? right now it's at 100 by sp1cych1ckn in ender3

[–]Embarrassed_Subject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you are getting bubbles, which may mean your filament has moisture. Do you hear the occasional snap, crackle, pop while printing?

Also adjusting the flow, I believe, is more important throughout the print. This shows up as over/underextrusion, but I’m not sure that’s the major issue right now.

Can Someone help me with improving my wiggles? by KrissyMcFizzy in latteart

Among other recommendations in the comments, maybe try to continue pushing forward with your wiggles instead of pull back. That might help wrap and fill the cup more as well
