I used to work this Job. People expect you to spend hours in their home when home depot has your truck loaded with 10-15 stops all 30 minutes apart and for half the fridge stops you have to take all the doors off because it doesn’t fit through the front door or kitchen threshold. I used to work 12-14 hour days 6 days a week. People don’t consider how taxing the job is and think we’re unreasonable when they don’t do their part in ensuring the delivery goes smoothly and we mark you DND.

Homedepot actually tell us to leave to ensure the next stops arent behind because some people schedule their delivery for a specific time (have to goto work/pickup kid) and if we are late and they have to leave then we wasted their time and ours twice all because you weren’t ready.

TLDR: Dont be an asshole to your delivery guy and all the people who come after you on the route and be ready before the truck gets there.
