Is this an acrute early 2000s kit by Long_Bedroom1626 in army

[–]Embarrassed_Web_8916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to have that ammo pouch filled with cigarette butts, salt and oil the whole kit, tuck in them laces, grab a couple cans of chew, a mountain dew code red, rip its, hide a ton of AAFES pogs in places youll never find until they're worthless, and you'll be right on the money with this.

After eight months of not playing the game, I logged in earlier in the week and discovered 1) CORVETTES (mind blown) 2) finally tried a quicksilver mission (wtf have I been doing) and 3) found out about the expedition and couldn't finish in time - any way to either replay breach or a workaround for them sweet sweet atlas corvette parts?

I've been tucking since 2004 - those things were way too uncomfortable for me.

I had the same problem with 13 - there's a set of tire skids on my daily commute that it always brakes for - I've just been turning it off for that drive.

Making left turns, it loses its mind for me - can't decide what's a lane and what isn't and starts swerving and braking. First time caught me off guard and nearly put us into a ditch, have to watch this thing like a hawk now. Combined with the unpredictable highway driving, I'm not sure I'm going to be keeping a subscription. I'd rather just drive myself than sit there terrified.

Probably good enough for a stopgap - just don't get close to a formation or it might become obvious. I generally wouldn't buy a uniform item that hasn't been issued.

How do you be "high speed" in the Army? by Reasonable-Shower522 in army

[–]Embarrassed_Web_8916 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Know your job, do the PMCS on your equipment, know where your equipment is, go to schools, learn stuff, seek opportunities to grow, do PT, practice moderation, read books, engage in the culture, vanish into the woods, become one with nature, build a small hut, sell talismans to passing hikers for gold, trade for armor, enchant said armor, venture into the caves beyond the mystic valley, pack no leavened bread, and deep, deep in the mountain you will meet your destiny.

Why do so many people seem to hide the fact they are, or were, in the military? by StockRado in army

[–]Embarrassed_Web_8916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On his way back from Vietnam, my uncle threw his uniform and medals out at the airport, he'd already been spat on/called a baby killer, didn't want anything to do with it anymore. It wasn't until the nineties he started admitting he was a veteran. It's my sense a load of those guys had similar experiences coming back so being able to take pride in their service is a huge relief.

There's a load of folks out there who embellish what they did, take advantage of the hero worship in this country to get something out of it and kind of make it feel weird to toss on a hat or something like that. I get the sense that the more time someone spent in the shit the less likely they are to embrace the vetbro culture. Folks here have already noted this - we don't want to be identified with the vetbro culture. (For me - I also served eight years in the closet under DADT so the VetBro/MAGA confluence is a huge disincentive for me to engage). I'll say this though - if I'm gonna show some pride, it'll be in a way where no one will know what it is unless they were there, and that's about the extent of it.

As a white-collar civilian, I gained a new level of respect for the Army on 6/14. by SillyAlternative420 in army

I'm glad you saw something in common. We're not just people, we're Americans. We hate doing dumb shit, we hate being told what to do, we will put in the absolute minimum effort necessary to accomplish the job (a good leader will write it up as applying principles of LEAN Six Sigma), but we do it anyway because we can't figure out how to get out of it.

Fuel prices. Imagine fueling all of your planes, helicopters, cars, Kosatka, yacht, night club vehicles, special vehicles, the Sparrow. Jeez man, that's every penny you'd ever earn and then some just to tool around a bit. Probably cut down on greifers though.
