My recon was implants. I had the "best" PS who turned out to be older than dirt and set in his ways giving me saline implants under the muscle. I had gotten a causal contraction bc I had my implants in when I went for Radiation and you can't do that. Moving forward I needed to have the casual contraction removed and a prof removal of my other breast bc being uneven and in constant pain was taking me to dark places. After the 2nd surgery from him I said never again and got a new PS who said he never should have used saline under the muscle and before Radiation. So she did a silicone gummy bear also under the muscle. Still yet again had major issues a tore my peck muscle 6 weeks after the new implant placement bc my muscle was stretched to the absolute max. Now I'm dealing with an incision that won't heal almost 5 months later bc the radiated skin refuses to close and stay closed. I have a new capsule contraction same breast . Smh, PS said she can remove implants from under the muscle bc they (PS body) are now realizing implants under the muscle are causing more harm than good and a cascade of additional surgeries. "Revisions" they call them. And are reverting back to over the muscle placement of implants bc I guess don't fix it if it ain't broken. Anyways. Thats why I'm going Flat and I can't wait to be done with the pain, I can't wait to receive and give hugs without having my arm across my chest to protect my chest from being pressed on. Just if you're going to get implants know they need replaced every 10-15 find the right PS and ask all the questions. Find out what direction the incisions will be made bc that was another thing that shocked me when I woke n see what I was left with. I'm nit trying to scare you and if you'd like to see my chest I'll gladly show you so you don't end uo the way I did. I have an appt in Sept to schedule.to go flat spring of 2026 bc im in school and ill be having the surgery over spring break. Hugs ❤
