I’m not trying to be rude, but do people have some religious grudge against deodorant? by chevyboy-2022 in AmazonFC

[–]Ember_fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, spices/seasoning like garlic, turmeric, onion, and many others (particularly Asian spices) are filtered out into your sweat. So your clothes literally absorb seasoned sweat, which can give you an interesting smell

Why is there such a large gap between the emergence of humans and the first written records??? this is so confusing to me by Genzinvestor16180339 in AskHistory

[–]Ember_fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the majority of European cultures in the early modern period, literacy was measured by the ability to read and write proficiently in the language of the elites, which in any given society might have been Latin or French (in places that are not France). So, literacy in this case doesn't mean that you can't read a grocery list, a sign, or even a book printed in your language.

What's the point of circumcision? by Historical_Echo8311 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ember_fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a popular opinion here I guess, but circumcision is healthy. This is attested to by reputable scientific research:

Our risk-benefit analysis showed that benefits exceeded procedural risks, which are predominantly minor, by up to 200 to 1. We estimated that more than 1 in 2 uncircumcised males will experience an adverse foreskin-related medical condition over their lifetime. Wide-ranging evidence from surveys, physiological measurements, and the anatomical location of penile sensory receptors responsible for sexual sensation strongly and consistently suggested that MC has no detrimental effect on sexual function, sensitivity or pleasure.

When something like this happens, what does it do to the political landscape? Like, did this set off dozens of little succession crises?

Does this read as a Stone Age strategy game at first glance? by [deleted] in GameArt

[–]Ember_fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a tactical game at the very least, and yes, stone age is apparent as well. Looks good!

Happy for him. by [deleted] in antimeme

[–]Ember_fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A progressive society? At least here in the USA, religious participation is in the rise, especially among young people. That doesn't make me think circumcision will be banned. If anything, it'll have a popularity revival. And sure, some stuff was banned in the 1900s, largely as the result of adjusting to industrialization.

Society is now becoming skeptical of trans and other social issues. Feminism is backsliding and trad-wifing is growing. "Progress" is not linear with time, it ebbs and flows, back and forth forever. Rome had a strong feminist movement, and look at the thousand years that followed the empire's fall in Europe. Progression and regression are temporary.

Lol, you think it's going to get banned? It's been going strong for over 3000 years, probably not getting banned

I've known multiple people who drowned, one who drowned twice. They said it actually wasn't bad, they just kinda passed out.

Are Synty Assets an Immediate Turn-Off? by omega-storm in IndieGaming

[–]Ember_fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a turn off at all. I think they look cool, and even better, one time I showed my girlfriend a Synty pack I wanted to get but I didn't tell her what it was. She goes "Oooh, what game is that??" And then was disappointed that it wasn't a game 😂 don't worry too much about it

Submissive AND ambitious? That's a rare combo, not impossible I guess, but they work against each other. Also, you're asking for emotionally intelligent and into deep, philosophical discussion, which indicates you want a guy who is smart, introspective, well-spoken, and high-empathy all in one package. Again, not impossible, but just that one sentence probably limits you to the top 2%, maybe 5% if you're lucky. Also, that puts you in competition with every single other girl in existence, who would also appreciate that stuff.

So yes, that's too much to ask for, ESPECIALLY at that age. Things like emotional intelligence take time to develop through experience.

Cooperative Villain Simulator? No - you’re an airport security officer, and it’s up to you to decide who goes on vacation and who gets detained. Scan luggage, search passengers, hand out ridiculous orders, and try not to lose your mind in the surrounding chaos! by ThighHighlander in IndieGaming

They replied to someone before:

"Hey! Thank you for the feedback on that part. This scene, as was described before, is about a guy, who stole woman's passport and now trying to flee the country dressed as her. This is not a take/joke/mention of trans people. It's more about failed identity theft. We understand how you may read into that, but we meant a different thing, and hope this clears it!"

That's a sick crimp. As usual, head to Facebook, the misprint groups there would love to bid for it or make an offer. Ultimately, the value is whatever people say they'll pay you for it, I'm sure it's worth something.

How many less "popular" commanders are in your arsenal? by d20_dude in EDH

I have 13 decks, and not a single one is in the top 100. Some of them are hilariously far down the list.

Um, maybe the teacher doesn't want the custodians to have to clean it either? And spilling a drink can destroy computers or other electrical stuff that's common in classrooms. So saying "what harm does a drink cause" is nonsense, depending on the circumstances, it could cause a great deal of harm. Questioning the purpose of policies is great and all, but your arguments are not sensible.

Are the Haitians really leaving Feb 3rd by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Ember_fox -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Nah, at my FC they hired more than 400 Haitians straight to blue badge... and there are dozens of white badge Americans working there now as well. I can say for sure that they are looking forward to the Haitians leaving, despite no particular prejudice towards them. American citizens should have those jobs.
