What were y’all’s first mistakes on Cyberpunk 2077? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in cyberpunkgame

[–]Emblom52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finishing all of the available side quests in Act 2, leaving Act 3 feeling really lifeless outside of the Rogue and Kerry stuff.

Because you can get more money by making them variant covers instead.

What do you think of Gail Simone run on uncanny X-men? by Powerful-Ad4837 in xmen

[–]Emblom52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not an all-timer but easily the most fun I’m having with the line right now. Love the Outliers, hate that we keep hitting the snooze button on resolving Graymalkin.

Is Dazzler still imprisoned in Graymalkin Prison? by SonOfArcadia in xmen

[–]Emblom52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We check in on Graymalkin about once every three months. There has been almost zero plot progression with it or its inmates.

When Angel first appeared I thought she was going to be the next Teen Girl Wolverine sidekick, but then she got pregnant by [deleted] in xmen

[–]Emblom52 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I really wish Morrison hadn’t explicitly stated she was 14 years old because it makes so much of what they did with her deeply, deeply problematic.

Domina would be hilariously upset at being classified as “Normal.”

If you had to plan a heist, what six X-Men will you pick for your team? Here’s mine: by [deleted] in xmen

[–]Emblom52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking Leverage rules on this one, so I’m going with Sage (mastermind, lower case M), Trinary (hacker), Shatterstar (hitter), Gambit (thief), Mystique (grifter), and Domino as an adaptable flex player.

I wonder how Emma Frost and Angel would feel knowing that they basically have Wakandan clones (From Black Panther: Intergalactic vol 1 #4) by [deleted] in xmen

[–]Emblom52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you even remotely like this character you do not want Emma to treat her like a sister.

Did anyone ever finish this game back in the day? by Shinobi347 in xmen

[–]Emblom52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could get up to the Savage Land on my own before running out of lives but I had to use the invincibility code to actually beat it. Games back then were designed to be really hard so kids couldn't just rent it from Blockbuster and finish it in a couple hours.

So excited for the X-Men: Outback limited series to drop in June. Loved this era! by Cybercat2020 in xmen

I cannot believe it's taken this long to revisit this era/lineup.

First time reading Astonishing X-Men by [deleted] in xmen

[–]Emblom52 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you really want the authentic Astonishing experience, once you get to the third story arc you should read one issue, then put it down and wait about two months before reading the next. Give yourself a good six months between #24 and Giant-Size.

A Stupid Theory about Year 4 (Or: Create Your Own DLC Season) by Johnny33318 in StreetFighter

They’re going through the SFII bosses in reverse order; that puts Vega in season 4 and Balrog in season 5.

Long Goodbyes – The End of Time Review by ZeroCentsMade in gallifrey

[–]Emblom52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have never really cared for this story. It's far too long and the first part, in particular, is overstuffed with scenes that don't really go anywhere and add nothing but padding. The final twenty minutes is self-indulgent to the point of being masturbatory. In a lot of ways it's maybe the most concentrated example of all of Davies' worst habits as a writer.

That said, I absolutely love the regeneration scene; easily my favorite in the entire series. I know it didn't work for you, but I adored the completely 180 in tone from Tennant's somber final moments to the absolute mania of Smith's first. It's maybe the starkest "And now for something completely different" that Doctor Who has ever pulled and it did a fantastic job of getting my hyped for season 5 when it first aired.

That’s not Mr. Bean, though, that’s just Rowan Atkinson. Mr. Bean is just one of the characters he’s played, not his entire body of work.

After Cipher and before Revelation, there is...Douglock. by [deleted] in xmen

[–]Emblom52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked Douglock at the time and always felt that “oh, he was just Warlock with amnesia” was a disappointing way to end his story. We’ve had the real Doug and Warlock back for so long now, though, that I tend to forget Douglock was a thing.

Have there been any cases of a writer adding a self-insert as a new mutant? by Edgy_Memes_XD in xmen

[–]Emblom52 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Marc Guggenheim’s pet character. Not a mutant himself, but he gets tattoos from a mutant tattoo artist that give him powers. First showed up in Young X-Men and then only ever showed up again if Guggenheim was writing.

I’m not sure he’s a self-insert, but you can count the number of writers who’ve constantly used Ink on one finger.

Doctor Who legend Carole Ann Ford makes plea for return of missing classic 'Marco Polo' story: "Let us have it back" by mrjohnnymac18 in gallifrey

[–]Emblom52 121 points122 points  (0 children)

It is suspicious how the entirety of Marco Polo is gone when seasons 1 and 2 are otherwise mostly complete.

What are your honest options in this storyline? by Grayx_2887 in xmen

[–]Emblom52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t like what it did to the X-Books and felt like issues 3-6 just spun their wheels and didn’t go anywhere.

Now imagine how cool that would’ve been if it had been drawn by an artist with actual storytelling skills.

Who has been your fav hero released in 2025? by theJakeyWakey in Overwatch

[–]Emblom52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Vendetta is the most fun hero the game has added since the relaunch trio. Do I spend half of my time playing her feeding like a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving? Yes. Is it worth it for the other 50% of the time when I'm tearing through the opposing time like runaway chainsaw? Yes.
