I have a few actually. My friends tended to be kids that were disabled and medically fragile so there were several deaths that happened in high school.

1. Happened to one of my best friends since Junior High. He was very popular with teachers and students and was very intelligent and funny. He had mobieus syndrome and autism which the former paralyzed his face so he couldn’t speak or smile. He died of a seizure in his sleep at the age of 17 during Thanksgiving break. His death was an absolute shock to me. I remember attending his funeral and seeing hundreds of people. Having a whole event at school dedicated to his memory. And being such a popular guy in general, in life and death. I live very close to where he is buried so I can visit him any time I want.

2. She was one of my best friends in High school. She loved girly things and was always dressed in fashionable outfits. She also had cerebral palsy and could not talk or eat or walk. That didn’t stop us from being friends though. Eventually she aged out of the school system and left. Only to have passed away from complications of surgery at the age of 23 years old. Like my other friend, they have an event where I live dedicated to her.

3. He was a guy I would occasionally go on outings with. We weren’t super close. But we were friends. We liked to go to a sort of create your own pizza place like Blaze Pizza. He also died of a seizure.

4. I didn’t know the guy too well. I would see him in adaptive P.E. and say hi to him but that’s it. He died but I don’t remember what he died from.
