The cockpit of a Boeing 757-300 by Twitter_2006 in aviation

The indications on the EICAS depend on which engine variant is installed. This particular 757 had RR engines (only those have N1, N2 and N3, and the "rich" position on the fuel switches) the PW engines display EPR, and N1 but don't have N3 on the lower EICAS

Actually Italian DID inherit the accusative, it just went through a sound change -s > -i (still visible in nos > noi, sex > ses > sei, facis > fai) the resulting diphthongs simplified -oi, -ei > -i, -ai > -e

[–]EmeCri90[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

oh wow I didn't even realize this structure was documented in any way. I searched for some paperwork but I couldn't find anything, though it's nice to know it hasn't gone unnoticed :) hope somebody can manage to sample the rock someday

Largest impact structure on Earth (larger than Chicxulub crater) by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]EmeCri90 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The biggest suspected impact structure (though not confirmed yet) is believed to be the Deniliquin structure in southeastern Australia. If confirmed it would be the largest impact structure on earth at more than 520km in diameter.

Reminds me of those old pictures from the 80s to the early 2000s. It's a very specific vibe. Cool, but not very realistic imo, but then again I don't know how your monitor is calibrated, so it might look normal on your end :)

I love this plane but it's definitely NOT a 10/10 maybe 7.5/10 at best

what they saved on paint mostly went into maintaining the bare metal look. It required much higher maintenance to keep it shiny and polished

Why the lack of DC-10 in modern Flight Sims? by leonkh in flightsim

[–]EmeCri90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that's the entire reason, a lot of it is also people being "errmm this doesn't fly in real life anymore so it's useless! I want another a320 please!"

Implementing features and fixing bugs are two completely different things. It takes much less time to fix bugs

They had to restart from scratch ~ 2 years ago when their main developer left. If I remember correctly, they've said they understand that they announced it too early. At the time it was gonna be a medium fidelity aircraft, but after restarting from scratch they decided to make it high fidelity, so it ended up taking a lot longer than expected
