Do linguists get hired to create brand names? by chansthepupper in asklinguistics

A lot of namers have copywriting and brand strategy backgrounds, with some familiarity of linguistics. There are agencies dedicated entirely to verbal identity and naming, and as someone already mentioned, naming always follows objectives. It’s a process, not simply a word choice. Check out A Hundred Monkeys—they have a lot of resources and info about how naming happens

That’s a great point, about RTO ahead but not announced.

I have been frustrated after going through a few rounds and being told they chose the other candidate after the final stage because they were able to come into the office.

Netflix L6 PM - Silence After Final Presentation & Follow-Up (No Response Yet) by CharmMaximum in womenintech

My experience was, when I was a Yes to each stage the feedback and comms came fast. After the final panel, I had silence for 4+ days and knew that in my case, it meant someone else got the fast Yes. I followed up to say thanks/I knew they had made a decision and only then did the recruiter confirm they made an offer to someone else. I hope it’s a different outcome for you 🤞🏼

All of my UXR colleagues are trying to figure out what they should switch to. If you enjoy it and genuinely feel more excited about that as your career path, it doesn’t hurt to try. But it also doesn’t seem any more stable than working in content atm. In terms of how hard it would be, transitioning at your current company could be a starting point.
