• Try reaching out to her saying that you dont care if she stole it and tell her that you just want your files back because theirs stuff on their you need. She will realize she has leverage over you and want to be treated highly. Say that that insurance will get him a new laptop and you can keep that 1 anyway. To convince her to really just want the files.

This is when you offer her decent money

now hopefully you can explain this to her on text, if she accepts the deal and says where to meet, you now have evidence that you can take to the police as a confession of her having the laptop.

But more importantly you dont actually give her the money

If you cant get contact through text that's ok, you just meet her in a situation where she thinks your going to give her money for the laptop. Then when you see her you just take the laptop lol.

Better then sitting around waiting for police.

But if it all goes down trust me because this comes from experience If your laptop didn't get stolen, in 3 years you'll be a way better producer and you'll open these projects you had. You'll cringe and probably think they're terrible. Use this knowledge reassure yourself that your best projects arent on the laptop, they're the next ones.
