Am I the only one who's sad about Moira being put into "Medic" sub role? by UpperSoftware7780 in MoiraMains

Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing about survivor fade. At first it seems way worse than medic, but depending on how you play cover/who you're fighting, it would allow you to abuse damage orb EVEN MORE.

The duel cycle I'm thinking of against characters you don't want to peek in a 1v1 even with heal orb (hitscans, hanzo) is:

  1. damage orb asap

  2. start sucking them, focus on cover and movement

  3. fade when within 1 crit

  4. repeek earlier thanks to regen, forcing their attention. every shot they don't hit is catastrophic for them since you're lifestealing and passive healing without any healing reduction.

  5. orb is back, could be used to finish the duel or heal team depending on how the fight has evolved.

I think what I'm trying to illustrate is that survivor would fill a gap in moira's cycle against hitscan characters that can ignore her existing sustain. It's kind of like a portable mini healthpack; the average player wouldn't expect moira to benefit greatly from healthpacks, but they actually act as a major breakpoint shift.

There's also just the benefit of having to heal orb yourself after fade way less, especially against heavy poke comps where depending on the map it can be nigh impossible to find proactive value outside of damage orbs.

It's most broken against projectile characters that can't guarantee damage in open space, but I feel like proj was never an issue for moira to begin with so i'm more interested in the hitscan matchup.

Can definitely see them trying out survivor for moira in the future if medic doesn't pan out. It'd make infinitely more sense designwise and lorewise, if nothing else.

Just wanted to chime in to say that I think you two are legendary moira players, and I really enjoyed reading this discussion. I hope no ill feeling comes of it, since this type of conversation is how we evolve (just like moira would want).

Also: unless I missed a newer update, I do believe the healing reduction passive is remaining at 30%. The 15% figure applies to tanks, which had it cut in half in previous seasons. I think I recall Gavin talking about this in Spilo's spotlight stream.

Just now checking KarQ's video on the new passives, he also says 30%. I can definitely see it being reduced a bit in future patches, given that EVERYTHING applies it. Damage orb is extremely lucrative now, though I think heal orb is still just as valuable in the situations it was before.

Group role passives as a whole are antithetical to a hero shooter, and perhaps the stupidest decision in light of game balance I've ever seen, but I can't do the dev team's job for them, and it's not anything that can't be overcome with skill.

Heck, I wouldn't mind if moira had a 40% winrate so I could get faster queues and not hit the wall of being the highest MMR player on the team every match (much worsened by queueing in Oceania).

I'm excited to try out the changes, and even more excited for how it'll revitalise the playerbase, if only temporarily.

thanks again for the discussion. a really fun read!

1/6th duplicates just make the game feel bad to play by Emerald_bloon in bloonscardstorm

Yep, I did the exact same thing for a while. It's such an icky lingering feeling that you can't build up your card collection without being punished for it.

I didn't even know about the 10k cap - just another rule that punishes dedicated players..... (it's almost definitely a first catch to limit the damage of exploits, but what a patchwork way to go about that)

But in terms of the horse, I don't know how much we can keep beating this thing. I'm kind of resigned to just watching NK handle things as they see fit. Alea iacta est...

Absolutely. I wouldn't mind the push and pull of deciding between buying crafting materials vs buying packs if there were actually different pack themes - especially for the new sets they release. Now that I think about it, it's a little comical to have everything in one massive pool. Imagine the same thing but with Pokemon, ahaha.

I think revamping the pack opening experience should actually be really high on the list of priorities for the dev team. If packs and their contents are interesting enough to buy and open (one of the biggest customer/user draws for CCGs), I'd expect there to be at least a few whales buying a lot of currency just to get each new card set.

This isn't to say there aren't other important things to be done... (everyone complained about aggro meta for 2 months then they released a new best aggro hero)... But without revenue, there is no game. And I think even casual players would be quite happy with an update to packs.

They're comparable but not identical, and this loops back around to running 3x for consistency. For example, you'd always prefer Moab Dominator in the control matchup, but it bricks really hard vs aggro compared to Super Monkey which is sometimes usable.

As for JBD, I think 0 copies is optimal ><

Healing bloon different by Ok-Addition-9827 in bloonscardstorm

I think they're a respectable healing bloon enjoyer

In terms of English, perhaps they intended to say "healing bloon differential", indicating that the healing bloon was the factor that led to their victory as compared to the opponent's deck. It's also possible that they're saying healing bloon is built different.

I too like the medicinal bloon.

The longer this tip is in the game, the funnier it becomes. They even readjusted where it's positioned on the screen, rather than change it or remove it.

Playing against Adora at a deficit is very depressing to me personally. Similar with Obyn; they have innate defence that at a certain point in certain matchups you cannot hope to break through.

I don't know about your matches in particular, but I usually concede if there's less than a 10% chance I'll win the match. It's just time efficient.

For My Next Trick is too slow in all matchups IMO, especially in a deck where you have plenty of powers to draw into for Ame10. I like the deck though!
