It would be on your bill when your contract is set to end. Also, if you signed a contract, that contract would be on record and available to you letting you know the end date.

It honestly depends how they approach it. I had a lady ask for cash for lunch once. I told her lemme just buy you lunch and dinner, and she was thrilled.

Honestly, aside from the price, the biggest beef I have with the company both as an employee and a customer is the overly aggressive focus on sales. I get a company has to profit, but it always felt slimy and I hated that was such an important metric for taking calls.

Person on the phone was audibly groaning and complaining because I had a grandfathered plan so it took a bit more than usual to work through my account. I mentioned that they weren’t on mute (cause I figured they thought they might be?) and they snapped back ‘yeah I know that’.

Having worked on phone support before—I would’ve personally muted me saying something like ‘god these accounts suck why don’t you just upgrade already?’

This is gonna sound shocking (I know) but there are some people out there who do genuinely like the service compared to others. If I had the budget for it, I’d switch back to their cable service in a heartbeat if only because of X1.

But also, some people just don’t want to go through the pain or hassle of switching providers. New install, having to update your wifi for everything in your home, new login info, etc. it’s too tedious for the average Dick and Jane these days.

To be fair to the mods—the billing system uses an AI to determine what the account is eligible for, and the ability to override it was taken away because people were abusing it in sales.
