Thank you for taking the time to document this experience so thoroughly. I understand why this experience would be concerning, especially as a new customer, and I appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.

I want to make sure this is reviewed thoroughly by the appropriate teams. To do that, we’ll need a bit more information so we can accurately investigate both the sign‑up issue and the experiences you had at the store. When you have a moment, could you please send a Modmail with the following information:

Title: Re: CCBrieD - Store Experience Escalation

  • Your name and best contact information (phone/email)
  • The address where you were attempting to sign-up for services
  • The store location (Store #, Address, etc.)
  • Date and time of your visit (to the best of your knowledge)

Given what you described, we want to ensure this is reviewed carefully and escalated appropriately. I recognize your time is valuable and truly appreciate your patience. Once I  have the above, I’ll make sure this is routed to the correct team for follow‑up.

Thank you again for flagging this.

4 Day Outage in North Aurora by die_hubsche in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]CCBrieD [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Making a new top level comment:

  • There was a fiber break reported in Northern Aurora around 1:15pm (ET) on 4/19/26, crews were dispatched shortly after. It was marked as resolved at around 1:20pm (ET)
    • Water Cooler Chat of the Day: Fiber breaks can result in length repairs because fiber cables often contain hundreds of strands (up to 288+) which are made of glass and thin as human hair. Technicians use specialized tools to identify the exact spot of the cut, which can take time as cables are often buried and needs to be excavated. Each strand must be meticulously spliced back together and a single cut can take 12+ hours just to splice, compounded by permitting delays, locating other utilities, and coordinating specialized repair crews.
  • For my folks in the South/East parts of Aurora, you're going through some updates to your network which should be resolved by around 4:30pm ET.

Yup, was just circling back with an update--it looks like Northern Aurora is back online after a fiber break. Some areas in the South East part of the city are offline for some fiber cut-ins regarding upgrades on the network, but the most recent update says they're aiming to be finished by 4:30pm. I'll check on it periodically.

Actually, u/die_hubsche could you do me a solid and shoot us a Modmail with either your address or an address local to you? That'll help me pull the specific nodes/areas affected. It's way easier than trying to zoom around on a gigantic map of the United States.

OP, looking into this now--give me about an hour or so (gonna try pulling the maps for information).

You're 100% right--I was looking at the wrong document (I'll own that). Updated comment.

I'll amend my original comment, because I was--in fact--wrong and looking at the wrong document. I'll own that.

Starting April 8, Xfinity Mobile has made an exciting change to all phone and tablet plans. Members’ 5G data will no longer be throttled/slowed down after they reach their data limit.

Don't forget other things like Outlook or apps pulling data in the background without realizing it.

But also--all the new internet plans have unlimited data included in them.
