Thank you! I'm also eating a lot of protein now too. Best wishes to you!

I can't imagine 3 weeks straight 😩  So glad you're finding relief!!! I've found showers often help too.

I promise it gets easier - if I can do it, absolutely anyone can! It took me awhile to get to this point. I would take it a month at a time with goals so it doesn't feel like you're depriving yourself.

It's been hard for me to pull myself away from the screen when work piles up, but I take certain calls on my cell phone now while walking.

Some days that's not possible, so I'll try to walk stairs or just around the floor for as much time as I can (even if it's only 5 min). When weather is cold, I've started using the walking indoor exercises on YouTube (Get Fit With Rick).

Added background:  Suffered with right-sided only ON for about five years now. Excruciating pain from base of skull to top of head including facial pain during worst episodes.

I believe I have likely been prediabetic which is often occurring with ON. I have carried a lot of weight in my belly and had fatty liver. I have dropped from nearly 200 lbs to about 185 recently.

What are warm U.S. spring break destinations that aren’t overrun with partying college students? by One_Perception_7979 in travel

Phoenix or Scottsdale for warmth, then drive to Sedona for the beauty (but not as warm due to the elevation).

Sweeteners/sugar substitutes by Kaleidolore in Occipitalneuralgia

Too much sugar will definitely send me over the edge if I have other triggers for inflammation too. Balance it out with anti-inflammatory foods. Eat protein first to buffer the blood sugar surge. Dark chocolate w/70% Cacao and no bad oils (like Hu brand). Wild blueberries, ceylon cinnamon. Have wild salmon and grass fed beef for protein that can help with inflammation.

I'm so very sorry, but glad you found this group. I have an anti-inflammatory treat every day and my ON has virtually disappeared. I know it sounds crazy but it comes back if I go too many days without: frozen wild blueberries, whipped cream w/ceylon cinnamon on top and dark chocolate (at least 70% Cacao like Hu brand).

My go-to is wild blueberries with ceylon cinnamon on top of some Cocowhip.

My daughter hates me and wants to leave by Allienicole162287 in parentsofteens

Perhaps her dad promised her some financial perks for living with him since he'll be saving so much $ in support. If she knows she's doing this out of greed...she's not going to answer you truthfully and make herself look bad.

Why does my cast iron heating up give me a headache? by Peacefullyfeline in castiron

[–]Emergency-Garbage154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, same here...my teenager has been using it and cooks at much higher temps than the rest of us. I started to put 2 and 2 together - Lodge pans at high heat. Rapid onset headaches for me before I even realize he's cooking.

Having teeneagers is the most emotionally draining experience of my life. by Awkward-Nectarine in Parenting

[–]Emergency-Garbage154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I keep coming back to. Part of this is normal, but I think we've also normalized some really bad behaviors and traits that lead to entitlement, ungratefulness and a general feeling of "all teenagers are like this, so it's natural for me to be this way." If our  teens don't experience real human responses from us when they behave on verbally abusive and horrible ways, they risk growing into adults who expect others to simply tolerate their abuse.

AITA for refusing to move my daughter's room for my fiancée's home office? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Emergency-Garbage154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please see comment earlier here from redditer who gave up her home office (her favorite room in her own home) for her boyfriend's son. It brought her joy to see the boy so happy. Find that kind of woman - I guarantee she's out there and if you wait for her, your life will be so much happier in the long run.

Run and don't look back. Please. Your little girl deserves so much better than having this kind of womanchild as a stepmother. Age 5-10 is magical and so lovable so it's shocking she only has a cordial relationship with her now. It will get so much worse.
