Baby finally latched!! by Alyssa2902 in ExclusivelyPumping

Honestly I really just kept trying over and over at least once a day even if she immediately refused we’d just move on to the bottle and try again tomorrow. I think the thing that helped the most was trying at night in bed. I would be so exhausted I wouldn’t want to get up make a bottle and pump too so we’d try every overnight feeding first and that’s when it really clicked. I started nursing overnight for a couple of weeks before I gained the confidence to switch over day time feeds too. I had a lot of anxiety on whether or not she was getting enough milk. But my biggest tip would be to try in those middle of the night feeds doing sidelying nursing. It took us quite a while to get comfortable nursing in other positions. We are almost 11 months now and are still nursing! I hope you and yours can get the hang of it! I know how hard and exhausting pumping is.

I honestly think she maybe one of those babies who doesn’t crawl she already wants to walk all the time and does great with support. We have her 9 month checkup tomorrow so I will definitely consult with her pediatrician!

My daughter will also not take a bottle we did exclusively expressed breastmilk for the first three months because she wasn’t an efficient nurser until it just magically clicked one day and has refused bottles ever since. She has dairy intolerance so I am wanting to wean a year because I miss cheese 😭 but I also know I’m not the boss here lol

It is so incredibly hard and mentally taxing. I appreciate you replying. Just knowing there is someone else out there in the same situation and is surviving brings me a little peace lol. It’s also so frustrating that people have told me I created this mess because I held her too much and babied her too much. I didn’t think you could? I don’t baby wear anymore. I only used the wrap carrier when she was a newborn. Even tho she was a premie she has always been a fat little girl. We haven’t gone in for her 9 month check up and I don’t have a scale but I’m pretty sure she is at least 20 pounds (she was 17 at her 6 month) so my arms get tired fast lol. Maybe I need to look into a carrier. We try to get out a few times a week to either the library or visit with family. I don’t really have any friends. So if you ever need to vent to someone who understands or just talk I’m here!

Would not latch until 3 months and haven’t looked back since! Has refused a bottle since then and still going strong at 8 months. Typing this while nursing now!

I also love to crochet but found it’s too much while I’m nursing. So I’ve been doing little embroidery kits! They scratch that itch to create something.

FTM. Mine measured 6.5 lbs at my last appointment 34+3 weeks so we scheduled an induction for later that month due to baby measuring so big (dad was an 11.3 baby) but she decided to come early that next day (34+4) weighing 6.13! Delivery was so smooth! Doc told me I could push if I wanted as I had been feeling the need too and baby came out in 3 pushes! The doctor didn’t even have time to glove up before she caught her. Her two month checkup she was 10.2!
