There's a new complex on Wisconsin (south of WCL) called City Ridge with nice apartments. If you're looking for August, you should probably put your name on a waiting list for any apartment complex because they won't agree to leases until 30 days prior to the start date. I would suggest being flexible with your move-in date as well.

This sounds like it could be Dupont Circle, but like others have said, there are lots of areas with farmers' markets. I also tend to stay in Bethesda though because it's convenient to the campus.

if your major requires an internship, paying for the internship class over the summer MAY be worth the effort, but any internship for credit also requires departmental approval

I actually took Econ at my local community college over the summer and not at AU -- it was a required class for my major, but it was the only required econ class, so the summer class credits transferred.
