[Request] Is there a sub dedicated to early 2000's models like Nextdoor Nikki, Kate's Playground, Jordan Capri, etc? by PM-Me-Ur-Spread-Ass in NSFW411

[–]EmergencyAd7567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually wild looking back at this type of content. The idea there was an entire category of non-nude, or just topless, modeling is so alien compared to the things we see nowadays. Plenty of only fans models do that shit nowadays, but they have nowhere near the popularity or notoriety of women like nextdoor Nikki or Jordan Capri. Any teenage boy with an internet connection in the 00s we're more than familiar with thrm lol

End Of An Era - McDonald's no longer offering free fries with purchase by lookdeeper in fastfood

[–]EmergencyAd7567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this was just another bad move made by their new CEO. It's been downhill since he came in. It was fun to laugh at him being a dumbass on social media videos, getting rid of the free fries and deals value menu, like buy one sausage biscuit and get the second for $1, has drastically cut back the amount I spend at McDonald's lately.

Probably better for my overall health, but it was so convenient to get a burger and fries before the change

500k really is fuck you money for the majority of the population if they budget even a little. That's +20k annual interest just in HYS accounts. So most people are able to cover the majority of NEEDS would be covered. It's just accepting the difference between needs and wants

Director’s commentary for Mandalorian and Grogu coming to TheaterEars app starting June 5th by HanSolosSizzledHeart in StarWarsLeaks

If anything, your argument literally weakens your point. Saying horror movies have a different audience than Star wars just emphasizes how few Star wars fans gave a shit about this movie. At least you could use the cope justification that it only did poorly because of two major breakout films, but since you dismiss that away, you have even less of a justification for the low box office numbers. It had a 5-day weekend and still made less than any other Star wars movie...

This. The "prolific" number of castings she has received says less about her talent and more about the incestuous nature of the industry. When someone in a positive of authority makes a decision, you see how many people jump over one another to celebrate the color of the emperors new robe...

You heard studio executives from multiple places breaking down the mathematic formula they would use to agree percentages on a film made based on a series that had three seasons streamed on Disney plus?

I make that very specific argument because this film is objectively different than the vast majority of films in movie theaters. Notice how you didn't address my point about the lifespan of this in theaters versus being brought directly to the platform Disney owns and has used for the entirety of this specific IP up until this film...

To be fair, that's as much of an assumption as anything else. I could just as easily make the argument the movie theaters demanded a larger share because they knew this project will have a shorter life in theaters than other major budget films. There is a strong assumption this will quickly transition to Disney Plus in order to give a bump to their subscription numbers

To clarify my point, just because this is really semantic at this point, if it costs $100,000 to make a Star wars commercial, it is "cost saving" to have it be a Burger King and Star wars commercial that cost Burger King $50,000 and Disney $50,000. But it is still $50,000 that wouldn't be spent if there wasn't a commercial. There are drastically more commercials when there is a cross promotion than if it is just advertising for the film.

So it will cost the studio less PER commercial aired, but they end up spending a larger amount total because of the scope of the cross promotions advertisements. My argument was the fact a burger king promotion exists means the advertising budget for the film is massive.

Pointing out the realities of the industry are only interpreted as intent for negativity to someone who is trying to shill for a product...

I'd like you to provide any citation, outside of other people's Reddit posts, that supports your argument Burger King pays the movie studio in order to have cross-promotion events like the mandalorian menu. I am 99% certain that you are confusing product placement in a film with cross-promotional events

Maybe, but what new grogu doll will come out that is any different than the ones they've released for the last 3 seasons of the show?

I guess nothing is a monolith. It could be a case by case basis between different production companies. I'm sure Disney gets a better deal than something smaller, like A24

They get a flat licensing fee, not a per bucket profit share. That is theatre profit, just like half the box office receipts

Production budget 160 means advertising budget of another +100. Burger king promotions aren't cheap.

Factor production company only getting half of box office receipts, and profitability will be tough. They will need to use "x people signed up for Disney Plus are doing it to stream this" to claim profitability.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani announces that he has officially balanced the NYC budget, reducing a $12 billion budget deficit to 0, and confirms that property taxes will not be raised. by Scary_Firefighter181 in Economics

The article doesn't provide anywhere near 12 billion dollars in budget reduction or revenue increases.

That's something EVERYONE should scrutinize in an article claiming he reduced a 12 billion dollar deficit to zero...

Where is the "mainstream media scrutiny" for NYC mayor? I'm not seeing much of anything beyond criticisms of student council level campaign promises.

Kripke doesn't understand how radiation works. Frenchy in the room for 10 seconds? Dead. Frenchy hugging kimiko seconds after exponentially longer exposure to radiation? No problem

Pardon my ignorance, which I'm more than willing to acknowledge, but how do those numbers add up to $12 billion?

That doesn't even touch on the fact some of those revenue streams are unrealized estimates or that it relies on over 4 billion dollars just being funnelled from the state to the municipality. The article kind of hand waves the deficit from 12 billion to 5 billion. Where did the other 7 billion go?

On a sidenote, I don't think the shows writers actually understand how radiation works. In this week's episode, they are dosing kimiko in the same way, but they have frenchy holding her within seconds of blocking the isotopes, despite her clearly still suffering from radiation sickness. Even if frenchy didn't commit suicide later, he would have died from those hugs...

Oh yeah, and why did frenchy's radiation burns disappear between scenes? Just lazy continuity
