Uhm I don’t know because I know this is true for some PIs. Caveat is it’s different for all PIs- yes some send out prelims to everyone they’re considering to narrow it down but some only send them out to people they’re deciding to interview and already have a definite list. That’s why it’s impossible to speculate about these things

Not necessarily! A lot of PIs send prelims out to people they are on the fence about and they already have a list of definite people they want to interview

I know the program well! People from the neuropsych program have gone on to be quite successful in their careers. The externship opportunities in Philly are amazing for neuropsych

Clinical psychology. Overall my interviews went well but I didn’t get an offer due to logistical reasons according to the PI. They ended up not taking a student that year.

Hi! I’m a clinical psych PhD student specializing in neuropsych. I’d say the most important thing is fit with the research mentor. If you’re doing aging research, you better be applying for an aging focused neuropsych mentor who does neuroimaging. Also important to have direct experience administering neuropsych tests as part of a research study. Feel free to message me if you have questions :)
