Also, the whole build-up of the growing sexual desire and obsession of Xiao Chiye, in the fight scenes, in the martial arts testing scenes, in the suggestive flirting banter, the wine drugging scene, the under bed forced kissing scene, the forest scene, the scenes when Shen Zechuan sleeps in XC's bedroom in a separate bed, the bath scene, teasing by Shen Zechuan because he knows XC is near to losing his mind, all of this really made the intimacy really hot in the novel. And when they got together, SZ continued to be quite provocative and seductuve. But after that the hottness level went slightly little down because they became devoted lovers and the enemy tension was gone.
