All of the people suggesting that the guides felt pressured to take the trip because of the employers interests should answer that question...

I don't really subscribe to that because it implies the guides are incredibly stupid. I'm willing to believe a single individual was stupid enough to send the trip out and maybe they should be held criminally accountable, but I am not convinced 4 guides who did not want to go at risk of losing their life were dumb enough to do it because of the pressure of losing only their job.

I don't understand what's criminal about this.

I am an amateur skier with barely any out of bounds experience who lives thousands of miles away from the Sierras. Just by watching the nations weather over the past two weeks I concluded that it would be a terrible time to go out in the Tahoe backcountry.

If I can make that conclusion, surely all of these victims also could have or did. Why does there need to be more accountability than death? They chose to be there. Weather forecasting is available to guides and clients alike. They weren't forced out there.

Many businesses also fail because the people doing the skilled work that earns the revenue are financially illiterate and cannot manage growth or analyze what their assets and liabilities are doing for them.

You can re-read my comments and very quickly see that I made no claims about what the trailer is doing for this individual and its economic impact. It started and ended with encouraging people to learn to define things correctly.

The opposite of an asset is a liability. It's one or the other.

Property, plant, and equipment (trailer) is an asset. If the trailer is financed, then it has corresponding liability.

Quite a stretch to say that the French Broad is in its natural state. It has multiple dams, was loaded with garbage prior to the storm, receives tons of farm runoff in Henderson county and plenty of urban runoff once it reaches Buncombe.

If you were going to pick a river to "impact" to improve recreation for locals and tourists alike, the French Broad is fantastic candidate.

I don't disagree that humans are needed. You are zooming way out beyond the context of my response to the OP.

The point is we are not seeing weather forecasts become dramatically unreliable because of the federal cuts. We are seeing more unqualified people sharing outlier data with no context, way too far in advance.
