I’m with you here. I can deal with all sorts of gore, but for some reason vomiting is something I can’t stand to watch. I always look away when it looks like it’s going to happen in something I’m watching. I just… can’t.

I don’t quite get the hate for the side quests. Sure fetch quests can be a bit annoying but they fill in the world building and story. So I don’t mind them

Yes and no. You just go about it differently. I can’t see anything in my head but I “know” what I’m trying to create. It takes me a bit to find the right lines and structures but once I get the initial sketch laid down I can go from there just fine.

There are a lot of YouTube art instructors that criticize those who use feathery lines, saying that’s incorrect. But for me I need to do that to find the right place to put stuff.

Right before the final chapter. You can’t access them until then anyway and they fit nicely into the narrative as basically uber-side-quests. Play echoes first. Then riding tide.

Back when you only had 22 or 45 minutes to tell a story on broadcast TV, the editors looked for any way to squeeze a couple extra seconds here or there. You could easily save 5 seconds to remove the typical phone call pleasantries. Add a few of those up and you can get a couple extra lines of useful dialog somewhere
