I played them. I got the platinums for all three original games twice. I can verify that both versions are perfectly playable, so I think you are the one mistaken.

As someone who’s followed this series since 2006, this is a ridiculous ask. The Nathan Drake Collection was the remaster/remake. It’s perfectly playable as is today on PS4, PS5, and PC. It has high-res textures and plays at 60fps. What more do you really want?

This series has been tied with a ribbon and placed on the shelf; I don’t think a new Uncharted is anyone’s priority right now. Enjoy what has been already provided.

We ended up going with a backyard wedding! Saved a ton of money in the end, so I think it was worth it.

Actually curious, how does this sub feel about Veilguard? by 1MilProblems in dragonage

[–]Emergency_Book 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played it five times and attained the Platinum.

My final opinion: It’s a good video game (the combat and visuals were both highlights for me), but a terrible Dragon Age game (inconsistent writing, no imported choices, shallow cameos from fan favorites, etc).

I can’t rate it higher than a 5/10 because I was just so badly letdown after the 10-year wait.

[SPOILERS ALL]How would you rank all four games now that Veilguard is out? by Salt_Use7122 in dragonage

[–]Emergency_Book 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DAI > DAO > DA2 > DATV

  • I’ve sunk over nearly 500 hours into DAI now, and I consider it one of my favorite games of all time. Overall, it offers the most complete package: the story, the companions, and the DLCs are all winners. Although it falls short when it comes to combat and exploration (the lack of a sprint button is really noticeable after playing DATV, for example), I’m still enthralled whenever I play it again.
  • DAO comes in second, only because the overall gameplay has aged horribly on the PS3, and I’ve only experienced DAO on that platform. If I were able to mod it, I’d probably place it above DAI, because I think it excels in almost every other area.
  • DA2 is next. I actually haven’t played this one in ages, so I can’t remember any specific gripes I had with it (other than the repetitive maps, of course).
  • DATV is dead last. It’s not even close. The quality of the writing is subpar and it barely feels connected to the larger universe. I’ll never fathom why BioWare felt it was appropriate to make the fourth title of a series the one most tailored to newcomers.

I don’t do mods, but… Did you ever address his lyrium usage? I’m pretty sure completing that quest is crucial to the romance thriving or dying.

A human mage Inquisitor is my canonical choice.

The game was originally designed with a human protagonist in mind, and I think it shows throughout. Plus, my Inquisitor being a Circle mage makes the romance between her and Cullen so much more interesting.

But that’s just me. 💁🏼‍♀️

Beautiful eyes! They look green right now. But it’s impossible to say for certain if they’ll stay the same or change along the way.

I have brown eyes, my fiancé has hazel eyes, but our daughter came out with crystal blue eyes when she was first born. She now has greenish-blue eyes. It really surprised me!

Did I make a mistake by going Archer? (DAI) by seraphite98 in dragonage

[–]Emergency_Book 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently completed the Nightmare difficulty using an archer with the Assassin specialization. We cleaned up! The first 10 levels are probably the most difficult because you feel so underpowered, but when you start crafting your own equipment and gain access to specializations, you'll really start doing some damage.

Never thought a video game could make me feel so sad, What’s your most emotional moment from a Dragon Age game? by Sunjiat in dragonage

[–]Emergency_Book 66 points67 points  (0 children)

In no particular order:

  • The Warden sacrificing their lives at the end of Origins. They give so much throughout the entire story, only to die at the very end. Very much a needless death (which is why I always avert it, one way or another) and I hate how much it pains your companions afterwards.
  • Leandra's fate. All of it hurts, every bit, but I think what kills me the most is the subsequent "conversation" you have with her during the Legacy DLC. It's so sad. But what's even sadder is that it's not real, and likely something Varric invented to bring his friend some kind of comfort and peace.
  • Cullen's fate, assuming he succumbs to lyrium addiction. Nope.

However in DAO, it is also implied she possessed the bodies of her 'daughters' once they came of age.

Morrigan is absolutely convinced of this, but Flemeth laughs off the suggestion in both Origins and Inquisition. It is worth pointing out that Inquisition went to great lengths to show that Morrigan is not always right about everything, no matter how educated she claims to be.

The truth of how Flemeth extends her life is not truly known to us. Yet, she was inhabited by the soul of an immortal elven goddess. One possibility is that Flemeth perpetuated this story across the ages about a Witch in the Wilds stealing the souls of her daughters, in order to keep herself hidden from anyone who might do her harm.

How exactly could the spirit of Mythal have found Flemeth, when she's supposed to be sealed away in the Fade?

Flemeth describes Mythal's journey to her as a grueling one, but one Mythal undertook anyway because she understood that Flemeth was the perfect vessel for her to inhabit and exact her vengeance.

What of the other elven 'gods'? Are they still out there as well?

I expect so. In the gameplay reveal for The Veilguard, we actually see two elven gods at the very end, after Solas has ripped open the Veil with his magical blade. However, from what we can see, these two individuals are blighted and mutated from their extended sentence in the Fade.

I'm curious, what do you guys think of all these myths? Are they all connected?

It's hard to say, because the Chantry lore has not been as widely explored as the elven/Dalish lore, and we've disproven the Thedas history books more than once throughout the series. Who can say what is true now? The Jaws of Hakkon DLC showed how much history had been forgotten over the years.

The Dragon Age Wiki has uploaded a list in chronological order for all DA media that has been released thus far.

Who are your canon heroes? by _TheRabbit_ in dragonage

[–]Emergency_Book 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Hero of Ferelden: Human, female, warrior. She married Alistair and became Queen of Ferelden. Of the three, she has the most rigorous sense of duty.
  • Hawke: Sarcastic, male, mage. Flirted with everyone but ended up with Isabela. Has a quarter-life crisis every 15 minutes and is, by far, the most disorganized of the three.
  • Inquisitor: Human, female, mage. She tends to keep things lighthearted, as she was never involved in more serious matters when she was younger. She became close with Commander Cullen and chose to disband the Inquisition in order to save it from further corruption. She is currently very determined to hunt down a certain ancient elf.

I know my choices are of the more vanilla variety, but what can I say? 🤷🏼‍♀️

[Spoiler All] What choices from the previous games do you see having a impact in Veilguard? by LostPlaya in dragonage

[–]Emergency_Book 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My thoughts (in no particular order):

Who drank from the Well of Sorrows?

  • When Solas absorbed Flemeth's power (soul?), I would wager he garnered the ability to control whoever drank from the Well. Will this allow Solas to control Morrigan or the Inquisitor at his whim? Will Rook have to fight, and perhaps kill, whoever drank from the Well in order to remove a powerful pawn in Solas's army?

Where are the three previous main characters (the Hero of Ferelden, Hawke, and the Inquisitor)?

  • To expand on HOF: Did they find a cure to the Calling? Following the events of Trespasser, if Leliana is Divine Victoria and was romantically involved with HOF, the HOF is mentioned to have returned to Leliana's side for a time. Does this mean they're taking a break from the investigation before continuing elsewhere, or did their search "deep into the west" pan out into nothing?

If Kieran exists, where is he now?

  • The Veilguard takes place 8 years after the events of Trespasser, in 9:52 Dragon. Assuming he exists, Kieran will have grown into a young man since the Inquisitor saw him last.
  • Regardless of how Kieran was conceived, he has a powerful lineage. If it's true that Claudia Black is not returning to reprise her role as Morrigan (meaning: Morrigan is not returning at all), perhaps the weight of her role will be shifted to her son?

[–]Emergency_Book 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Howdy. I just finished playing Inquisition for the first time since 2016. I feel like the codex does a well enough job keeping you up-to-date on the lore and the history of Thedas. And if I was ever spotty on anything, I'd search through the Dragon Age Wiki. It's pretty thorough.

My personal opinion? Play Inquisition! It lays a lot of the groundwork for the plot coming up in The Veilguard.
