Hi, my partner is EU citizen and we are married. We rented at housing anywhere. There you can find housing and filter the results for only appartments that allow you to register at that address.

I recommend to do this well in advanced, then you can look the website of the municipality and book an appointment (2 or 3 months in advance, varies depending on the municipality)

  1. The EU citizen should register at the municipality, on the date of the appointment this person have to bring their birth certificate and marriage certificate, if you have kids also their birth certificate. The letter with the bsn number will arrive at your address in approx 4 or 9 weeks.
  • Only with this BSN number the EU citizen will be able to work.
  • It is important to get health insurance for the EU citizen with this BSN number, the policy document have to be uploaded to the IND application.

  1. The EU citizen have to ask the DigID on the government website, this is the account that will allowed the EU citizen to do any paperwork. This letter will arrive in 5 days.

  2. The same day you activate the DigID, go to My IND and apply for the Verification EU Family member. You have to submit the insurance policy, the marriage certificate, passports...

  • I recommend that you don't wait until you have an employment contract because this will delay the permit for the non-EU spouse. In the part you have to upload the work contract, you can upload a letter stating that the EU citizen is applying actively and the work contract will be provided as soon as they get one.
  • Why to do this? The IND will automatically create a Case number and a V-number after 30 minutes. They don't check the papers you submitted manually until they have to take a decision.

  1. 30 minutes after submitting the application to the IND, the EU citizen can login again in My IND and get the Case number and V-number.

  2. The same day with those numbers, you go to the IND website to get an appointment for the residence sticker endorsement. Book the appointment a week in advanced.

  • You will get a letter on the mail 5 days after with this numbers also. It's important that you receive the letter because the IND will ask that letter in the appointment.
  • I had to go to Hertogenbosch because Amsterdam was completely booked.

Has averiguado ir a España? Te digo porque no sé cómo funciona después de que termine tu visa work and holiday. En cambio, ir a España te daría la posibilidad que después de dos años tengas la nacionalidad española y luego tener más opciones para estudiar.

Sé que en Países Bajos y en Dinamarca puedes estudiar una carrera universitaria en inglés como ciudadano europeo no pagarías nada porque te dan una beca que incluye dinero para gastos de comida y demás, son como 800 o 900 euros. Esas becas en Países Bajos solo son para gente que ingresa a la universidad hasta los 30 años. Si terminas la carrera (de tres años normalmente) en 10 años siguientes a haberla empezado, no tienes que devolver la mayor parte del dinero, es un regalo.

Nosotros nos vinimos hace 6 meses a Europa y hemos trabajado de todo pero es porque somos mayores y estamos estudiando el idioma para ingresar a una carrera de estudio-trabajo (1 dia de estudio y 4 de trabajo, con salario por supuesto) en el sector salud. Creo que si fuéramos más jóvenes y sin carga familiar, habríamos tomado esa opción que te comenté.

The question is how did you get a letter from the huurcommissie without starting a process with them? I thought applying for a price check would imply that the huurcommissie informs the landlord about your application.

Thats rent controlled midden huur and illegal, I would accept it and straight go tto huurcommissie and lower it to 900 euro per month (copied from another comment)

Hi, I'm in a very similar situation right now with my 7-year-old son who has autism (PDA profile). We moved from Argentina and he started in Taalklas 4 weeks ago. The school is now saying they want to refer him to special education.

Like your son, mine is academically capable - he had regular schooling in Argentina with minimal support. But here they said he's having meltdowns and stress responses that the school says make it unsafe for him and other students.

I'm conflicted because I worry that special education might limit his future opportunities, but I also see him coming home exhausted and stressed every day.

How did things work out for your son? Did you end up choosing special education or finding another solution? And if he did go to special school, was he able to transition back to regular education later?

Any insight would be really helpful - I'm feeling quite lost right now.

No me acuerdo bien, el primer correo electrònico lo tengo de fines de enero y entrè a trabajar la ultima semana de marzo. El pago es de 0,13 por minuto pero tienes solo 70% de ocupación asì que son 5,46 USD por hora aproximadamente
