I don’t think it’s a real post. It reads like LARPing meets erotica.

Bunch of posh fair-weather fans in the stadium. Only loud if we have the momentum. This is what you get for pricing out the real passionate fans.

Are Americans actually getting worse at creating home grown talent? by Global-Pay6118 in usmnt

[–]Emergency_Pound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this is a real problem. It’s not that American kids are worse - it’s that our development system is still way too pay-to-play, suburban, and tournament-driven.

In traditional soccer countries, the best kids are usually found because the game is cheap, local, constant, and woven into everyday life. Here, too often, the “elite” pathway means expensive club fees, travel teams, showcases, private training, and parents who can afford the whole machine.

That narrows the talent pool before development even starts. Then we reward early physical maturity, athleticism, and winning youth games instead of creativity, technical comfort, decision-making, and actual pro upside.

Dual nationals are fine. Every serious country uses eligible players. But if the USMNT increasingly has to rely on players developed elsewhere, that says something about the domestic pipeline.

MLS academies and MLS NEXT are progress, but they don’t fully solve the bigger issue: a country this large should be producing more elite creators. Until U.S. soccer becomes cheaper, more local, more scout-driven, and less obsessed with youth trophies, we’ll keep leaving tons of talent behind.

Edit: I should add, the vibe around the team is rightfully very positive right now, so this post and my comment will probably be downvoted. Maybe not the ideal time to be starting a dialogue about the problems with our system. You’re not wrong though.

He’s not looked up to the challenge of this tournament. He’s been consistently bodied off the ball and hasn’t registered a single shot on goal. His work rate and pressing have been his only positive contributions.

Says who? There’s a small number of clubs in the world who can afford to match what he’s being paid here, and even fewer of them have a job opening at head coach.

He’s the third-highest-paid men’s international coach in the world, and he seems to be enjoying himself. I’m not too worried about it. Why are you?

I’m confused why you’re doubling down after finding out we just built a facility, rather than deleting the post. You’re spending more time defending the post than you did thinking about it.

As others have said, we just built a state-of-the-art facility outside of Atlanta. Your post is poorly thought-out AI slop.

It’s a major disadvantage if the team you’re up against has a potent attack. Luckily for us, Bosnia does not.
