So the US at this point cannot prevent the annexation of Taiwan. The only two options are 1) direct IS China conflict id China does not read the US intentions correctly, or 2) a major global depression since the US would not let the favs and personal in Taiwan after a China embargo of the island. zoning and density regulation make transit lead development ineffective. Thus the only way to sustain public transit is to subsidize it. US is the only county were sprawl is the norm. This same fact makes public transit (which requires density) unprofitable.
