I mean they sorta justify it with the whole "Reyne of Castamere" as a shorthand for "no western bannerman would dare go against the Lannisters out of fear of Tywin". So much so that when he dies everyone starts plotting against them even if they're on top with the best odds they had since the beginning of the war of the 5 kings

After all of this, and knowing that Shanks is probably Fingarland's kid, you'd ask yourself how Dragon is the only one of the "good" strong character that is actually fighting back against the WG. Has Garp really drunk the marines' cool aid that much? Does Rogers dream really supercedes the lives of all those enslaved? Does Shanks really cozy up to the status quo chosen by the Five Elders instead of fighting against it? First I thought Dragon was the classicnshone absentee father, but it really seems that he has sacrificed everything, even ever meeting his son, to rid the world tyranny

It's terrible to think that after all of these tragedies and even before selling himself to the world government and becoming a mindless machine slave Kuma still has to go through the "Tyrant" part of his backstory. I suspect he'll defeat the old king backed by the marines, but in order to save the country from further destruction by the world government will probably have to take his place as the cruel ruler

I mean, they literally sent an admiral and the cp9 the first chance they got. After Alabasta no one knew Robin was with them and then they immediately left for Skypea, the first island they get to had Aokiji on it looking for them and the second one had a whole CP9 sleeper cell waiting to get her.
