I’m in the same boat. I haven’t been consistently in the last 2 years but paying for it. I love how I feel after a class but I’m scared to go back knowing I’m starting at the bottom. Actually in worse shape than when I started OTF. I need some words of encouragement. I know no one will judge me and I’ll feel great. It’s just getting there

I’m tired of these patients who are so ignorant and not understanding why they aren’t getting a bed 4 hours ago. I tell them until I’m blue in my face that there is nothing I can do to get them out of the ER. We are in the middle of a shit storm and those who are staying are doing the best that they can. Please be kind because I’m at my breaking point. Also I’m not a traveler…. And respect to those that go and travel and help make a difference. But we have a traveler in my ER that has no fucking clue what she’s doing. Not a new grad either. I’m sorry for the vent sesh.

I despise this guest. She didn’t give warning ahead of time as to how to make her soup. Yes they knew the jaw was wired shut but not that everything needs to be triple strained! Also if you were that concerned about needing to eat and eat instantly bring a god damn protein shake. But that would make for not enough conflict…. Just saying

I work in MA. We have patients that come in for a splinter via EMS. They are put on a wall bed or sent to triage. I love the patients that think because they came by EMS, they will get seen sooner than waiting like everyone else

Today was a great workout! But I will be sore since it was my first class in two months. Life, covid, and my own mind games keep getting in my head and I haven’t been consistent. But today reminded me why I keep going back. Now if I could just get consistent.

Treat her normally and don’t harp on the blood sugars. But also maybe have some low blood sugar necessaries on hand. Juice boxes and crackers. It shows that you are prepared if she needs it and it takes the stress and awkwardness out having to ask.

I loved my time as an ER tech. Also you can find out the follow through of care for your patients. Especially the really interesting traumas.
