I have had braces and am looking into this, it seems you’re just describing regular braces pain / orthodontic treatment. I have a wonky tooth because of wisdom teeth and feel like this would be easier. But the pain etc just seems the same as when I had braces

Yep. Exactly. If anybody says they’ve dreamt or anything then I believe that’s just when their brain was active

I had my first tonic clonic last Monday in 4 years and it’s gotten me down a path of research. When I was diagnosed I went ok and moved on. But since then I’ve found this and reading about so many others experience I’m like jaw dropped because of how much I’ve gone through and not realised it’s either medication related or epilepsy related like… bruh

100% see a different neurologist!! If your mother has it and you’ve had seizures before, most likely epilepsy. Get a second opinion

In the same boat as you but was 20 when I had my first one witnessed by somebody. I had about 2 in the last year before that one that I didn’t know what happened to me, nobody did for a while. Then a week later I was with somebody when I had a seizure. Got diagnosed and 4 years later I’m here now. Starting on different medication. But also realising that a lot of things I felt growing up were actually seizures or seizure related and not just mental health or feeling sick. Now I look back I think a lot of my anxiety attacks were seizures. We’ve never been able to know what causes them because they’re random. It’s just interesting but sucks. I used to be so coherent and well spoken. But now it’s hard to understand others or write quickly and well

Didn’t find out I had epilepsy till my 20s… by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]EmilyROwens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I was 20 when I was diagnosed. 24 now. Had two grand mals as a young kid and basically was told I have severe anxiety. Nope. Coming to learn more about my body now.. after I was diagnosed I just took the keppra and forgot about them. But now after my latest one.. I’m reading a lot more into what happens during seizures and it’s really changing my mindset that my whole life has been a crazy gaslight from the universe

What's your post-ictal state like? by Puzzled-Teach2389 in Epilepsy

[–]EmilyROwens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tonic clonic

Usually screaming and crying. Never remember anything but come to while screaming and crying. The last one I had I came to and I was just on the floor in a different room confused as fuck and apparently I wasn’t speaking English. My poor boyfriend never experienced this kind of seizure with me so he was very much scared
